Commercial Description:
The first thing you notice when pouring a glass of this seasonal beer is the color. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest has a rich, deep golden amber hue which itself is reflective of the season. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest is a malt lover's dream, masterfully blending together four roasts of barley to create a delicious harmony of sweet flavors including caramel and toffee. The beer is kept from being overly sweet by the elegant bitterness imparted by the German Noble hops. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest provides a wonderful transition from the lighter beers of summer to the winter's heartier brews.

I was surpised too see that I had not had this one. Very good brew. Pours an amber-copper with a nice off white head. Malty, spicey aroma. Great malty taste. Surpisingly crisp. This was one of the better sam adams brews I’ve had.

Bottle; best by Feb 2010. Poured copper with a fizzy tan head that settled to a ring. Aroma of molasses and light spice. The flavor found caramel, grain, and spice. Medium body, sweet, and a malt aftertaste.

A: Nice golden copper hue with a nice tall head when poured from the tap. Good retention and lots of bubbles. A smattering of lace is left behind. A touch of alcohol could be detected. S: Big malty aroma with hints of caramel. T: Nice big biscuity malty taste with a hint of caramel sweetness. There is a dash of bittering hops as well to provide nice balance. M: Medium in body, fairly smooth.

Bottle - Pours a clear amber color. Large white frothy head. Minor lacing. Flavors of carmal and malt. Very smooth. Nice malty aftertaste. Very solid. Only negative is that I wish it were a bit more robust.

Pours a rich clear amber color with a small off-white head, Aroma of caramel malts, butterscotch. Taste is a little sweet, big malts, and a slightly bitter finish. Medium body with a oily flat texture. Very enjoyable seasonal from the Boston Beer Co.

33cl bottle. Best before 2010-06. From a friend. It poured a golden orange colour with a medium big white foamy head that settled down fast in the glass. The aroma is malty with notes of almonds and caramel. Flavour is malty. Notes of caramel, almonds and brown sugar. Short aftertaste.

Bottle. Pretty good Oktoberfest. Pours a light brown with a thin white head. Malty nose with notes of sweet toffee and autumn vegetables. Flavor is tasty if somewhat mild. Mostly malt character with some off-setting hop bitterness. Pretty clean finish. Perhaps slightly above average for its category.

355ml bottle, pours a clear and deep, dark amber body. Fading white head. Smell of earthy malts with notes of lactose behind. Malt-fruity taste with apricots and leafy hops. Mid-sweet. Dry palate. To my liking (shared with Finn, Tromsø 01.12.2009).
