| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 6, 2009 As I poured this beer I actually said, "Well, well, well you are a beautiful beer." Sad to say I was actually talking to myself. Anyway back to the beer.
Pours dark red almost black in color. Mid bodied. Roasty to the nose and some flavor’s as well. This beer should be available all year round. machfive55 (235), Columbia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jan 5, 2009 Poured a dark brown, not much head on it but a lively carbonation. Had a very complex aroma, with cinnamon really standing out. The flavor is complex with roasty notes, caramel, spice, fruit, a little sourness, and low on hoppiness. A fairly interesting beer and a good and different offering from Sam Adams. I found this beer to be very drinkable. NeoHippie2 (178), Louisville, Kentucky, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Jan 5, 2009 This was awesome. Pours a deep roasted dark amber with an off white head. Nice lacing on the glass. Aromas of cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove. Lots of malt in the flavor with the spices shining through wonderfully in the finish. Awesome Christmas brew. I wish they sold this in six packs instead of just in the sampler packs. I would definitely buy a six pack of this. wmubronco1992 (192), Coldwater, Michigan, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 4, 2009 Bottle - part of holiday sampler pack. Mahogany color. Thick off white head with very nice retention. Good lacing. Mild spice aroma. Very malty. I’m not sophisticated enough to pick up the spices others talks about, but I do agree that it reminds me of eating a cookie. This is a very nice holiday beer. Good balance. Above average seasonal brew. malrubius (1005), Valley Stream, New York, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 4, 2009 12 ounce bottle in pint glass. Reddish brown with lasting ring. Cinnamon spice aroma. Brown sugar and cinnamon flavor with mild fruitiness and spicy bitterness. Medium body. Fairly complex and not completely out of balance like, say, Harpoon WInter Warmer, but still pretty gross. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 3, 2009 Dark red brown, with a nice cappucino colored head. Sweet and spicy on the nose. Clove and cinnamin. Foam clings lightly to the glass. Maltier than expected. Nice spiced sharpness. Fruity and full up front. Nice stickiness in the mouth. Not bad. nearbeer (1887), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 3, 2009 12 oz, bb Feb 09. Clear chestnut with garnet highlights. Lasting quarter-inch of creamy bubbles leaves a nice frosting on the pint. Aroma is similar to Anchor Christmas: prunes with earthy spices like coriander, ginger, nutmeg, and clove. Flavor is the same mix with some apple, orange, and peppery roasted walnut on the finish. Medium-heavy body is smoothly carbonated, spicy-tingly and nicely dryish on the finish.
