COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Spicy and bold, a big Christmas cookie of a beer. Samuel Adams Old Fezziwig Ale is bursting with spices of the season. With a remarkably full body and flavor it helps those long winter nights pass more quickly. The rich taste hits the palate with a depth of malt character ranging from sweet toffee and caramel notes to dark, roasty chocolate notes. Then the spices come in full force. Cinnamon, ginger and orange peel dance on the tongue bringing with them the celebratory spirit of the season.

Malty aromas of caramel and toffee and the smallest hint of gingersnap cookies. Deep brown with a fading white cap. Balanced with notes of generic malt. Medium bodied with a somewhat dry finish.

Bottle. Pours ruby-brown with thick light tan head and substantial lacing. Nose of bread, chocolate, and cinnamon. Bready malt with chocolate notes upfront with chocolate and subtle cinnamon in the finish. Very good overall. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle, pours brown with red tint and off white head. Aroma is cloves and spice. Same to taste with some orange and some carbonation. Not a bad beer just not a fan of cloves. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Frax (47) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - JAN 25, 2016
Slight hint of cloves, pours clear amber with a nice white head. Becomes more sweet the more you drink it, so probably not sessionable. Lively mouthfeel. An enjoyable holiday beer, could have a couple but too sweet to have too many.

Cybercat (4630) - Georgia, USA - JAN 1, 2016
Pours clear chestnut with a thick, though not too persistent, eggshell head. Aroma has woody and spice hints, a little malt, not strong but promising. Flavor features firm toasted malt, woody, cinnamon, toffee, chocolate, and subtle citrus tones. Mouthfeel features typical body but some good fizz. Enjoy the holidays.

Pretty sweet. Not all that impressed with the winter pack for samuel adams but they make subpar beer.

Feeziwigs is a nice seasonal beer.. but it to me, it is so similar to their Winter Ale. It seems much like the same base ale with just a different spice flavor profile. I actually wished Sam Adams would not have the Holiday pack with their Winter lager and Feeziwigs together. I’m probably in the minority here.. but I would rather see the Cranberry Lambic (okay,.. it is strange and sour and NOT a real lambic but it is distinctly DIFFERENT) instead of the Winter Lager, which you can always get in six packs.
