3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz. bottle from Winter Mix Pack. Pours a clear reddish-amber with minimal crown. Aroma is rich in malt with some cinnamon and other spices more prominent than some caramel and hops. Flavour is sweet and malty with a nice balance of hop bitterness and a spicy but smooth finish. Cinnamon, chocolate, and earth tones linger on the tongue after the finish. Palate is medium-bodied with lively carbonation. Overall, a great holiday beer by Sam Adams. I wouldn’t mind drinking it all-year long...and too bad I’ve only seen it in the Winter Mix Pack because I’d buy it in by the case to drink.

Bottle. Large fluffy head, dark amber color, like syrup. Malt, cimmamon, ginger, and alcohol smell. Spice, chocolate, caramel taste. Sweet finish. Cool name.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 11/20
Dark brown, small beige head. Aromas of spice and dark stone fruit. Flavors of light anise contribute to a slightly bitter finish. Overall it's a little thin.

I was nervous about this one. I’ve had bad nutmeg experiences with beer.
Pours a dark brown with an off-white head. Smells of caramel and chocolate. This is a malty one with lots of depth and a buttery finish. There’s a spicy bitterness on the tongue, but it finishes smoothly. This is essentially a denser brown ale with a bit of holiday kick. And with a name like Old Fezziwig, it’s a jolly good show, ’ol chap.

Pours a glowing brown with a small head. Aroma is spices and maybe coffee. You can definitely taste the cinnamon, and I think the orange too. Gets more pleasant as it warms up. Probably an acquired taste, but I could definitely enjoy one here and there.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours dark copper with light tan head. Aroma is of malts and spices. Taste is a bit underwhelming with a light mouth feel and lack of depth. Palate is light and finish is quick. Overall it’s decent enough to be in a holiday sampler offering.

Winter spices of cinnamon and ginger. Dark, smooth and a nice beer for a cold night by the fire.

If I wanted a Christmas cookie, I would just eat a cookie. Wouldn’t go out of my way to buy despite decent reviews. It’s like "take all the Christmas pastry ingredients and dump ’em in and see what shakes". Comes in the holiday sampler, so might as well drink it, but definitely not a favorite.

After hearing the name I had to try this beer. I was not disapointed because the beer had a rich robust taste with an intresting flavor.
