COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Spicy and bold, a big Christmas cookie of a beer. Samuel Adams Old Fezziwig Ale is bursting with spices of the season. With a remarkably full body and flavor it helps those long winter nights pass more quickly. The rich taste hits the palate with a depth of malt character ranging from sweet toffee and caramel notes to dark, roasty chocolate notes. Then the spices come in full force. Cinnamon, ginger and orange peel dance on the tongue bringing with them the celebratory spirit of the season.

Dark amber, slight ruby, initially large head that shrinks quickly, leaving a tiny lacing - aroma of cinnamon and caramel - flavor has some of the same, as well as a very cookie/toasty kind of flavor - some chocolate - toasty finish with lingering malts - a pleasant surprise.

Poured from bottle. Amber with red highlights. 2 finger head that hangs around. Medium mouthfeel. Taste is first malty... especially caramel. Finished with Christmas spices.

12 ounce bottle. Copper brown color topped by a thick creamy beige head. Rich malty nose redolent of toffee and cinnamon. Smooth toasted malt flavor upfront. Spices come in but are not overpowering. Hints of orange peel and ginger blend nicely with the caramel malt notes. Very well done.

Clear ruby red amber. Slight tan head. Malty. Bready. Modestly spiced. More malty than spiced thankfully!! Smooth medium plus body. Easily one of the better holiday ales.

Pours clear dark brown with a medium khaki head, good retention, very fine lacing. Aromas of toffee, toast, nutmeg, and ginger. Light body, smooth, creamy. Lightly sweet, gentle citrus, medium bitter finish. Very drinkable, the spices are light, it comes across as a lightly spiced brown ale.

Bottle APPEARANCE – copper color & carmley. NOSE - define spice, fairly muted FLAVOR - some nice spice. oddish aftertaste - can’t put my finger on it. NOTES - OK holiday ale. pretty good drinker, but it’s been surpassed by several new offerings.

Spicy/herbal aroma, chesnut brown with red tint colored body, orangey brown bubbly head, malty taste indicative of brown ales, but instead of hops, it is followed with spices and slightly sweet. Terrific.
