3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: AUG 30, 2011 Bottle. The pour was a nice coppery medium brown in color with a large (3-4 finger) rocky head that had great retention lasting almost throughout and produced some really excellent lacing.
The aroma was very pronounced with a strong roasted bread malt, a mild pine hop and a sweet yeast with notes of cinnamon, nutmeg, coffee and some dark fruit.
At first the taste was slightly bitter with a dominant malty-coffee flavor that had a hint of brown sugar, then progressed into a moderately sweet hoppy finish with the end having just a hint of spice and I am thinking cranberry. The flavor was left to linger on the palate for a nice long while allowing the flavors to really come together.
Mouthfeel was a light to medium in body and had an oily yet rather creamy texture with a somewhat prickly carbonation.
Overall it is a very satisfying seasonal Ale that had all of its flavors melding very well thus producing a very tasty brew...

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Brown pour with tan head. Aroma is light sour malt and some toastiness. Flavor is sweet caramel malt and a strong dose of perfumy spiciness. Medium bodied and fizzy. Not one of my favorites but ok

Not much on the smell. Taste is also very faint. Some slight toffee flavors. And some caramel creaminess. Any flavor is gone quickly though.

Lager glass. Nice looking beer with a creamy looking head. Malty tasting, bits of spices and a hint of some kind of fruit. Pretty good beer.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Dark reddish brown color with a good amount of head. Spicy Christmas-like aroma. Not as much spice flavor as expected but it still has a nice malty finish. Lighter beer than I’d want but quite drinkable.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
A- Cinnamon, spices, roasty.
A- Dark amber color, dark liquid, minimal head.
T- Cinnamon, ginger, cloves, spices.
P- Medium body, average texture, medium carbonation, spiced finish.
O- Didn’t detect any of the toffee, caramel or chocolate notes, but there was an abundance of spices, especially cinnamon. This beer is a nice winter staple, and a fairly complex one at that.

Draft and rw. Best thing this has going for it is its appearance. Light and not my style.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Definitely smells spicy. Some toffee candy aroma going on. Reminds me of merry Christmas happy new year but more subtle with the spices. Again my details are sketchy due to the fact that it was weeks ago when I had this. From a mix pack this was the best.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
The appearance is a deep chestnut color with a large off-white head that fades fairly quickly, and the subtle aroma blends caramel malts, roasted malts, orange peel, and a hint of cinnamon. The taste is a very, very nice combination of a mild sweetness, slight level of umami, and a touch of sourness, and the palate fuses a medium body, slick yet thick texture, soft carbonation, and subtle yet malty finish.

Old Fezziwig reminds me of Winter Lager. The has the same cinnamon and orange peel but differs with a sweeter and malty finish. Another nice winter brew.
