BruceLeroy (69), North Dakota, USA Jun 12, 2008 Updated: Jun 18, 2008 Well carbonated and a little less hoppy than a typical pale ale. Finishes very smooth. I’m impressed with this one. I’m not a Pale Ale fan, but this one is not bad and I would buy a 12 pack if I saw it on sale.
fatti_bobatti (221), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Aug 21, 2008 i like pale ales, love ipas but found this beer to be at best mediocre. defiantly english, aroma is earthy hops and malt. taste is initial heavy sweet malt, caramel, bread and raisins dissipate to earth and resin hops in the finish. a good beer for the style but im not much a fan of English ipas or in the case of this beer, there weaker pale ale little brother. pik5el (34), Pasadena, Maryland, USA Aug 18, 2008 Decent sesson beer. Nothing outstanding, but nothing that tasted bad either. I could drink a couple, but I honestly prefer the Sam Lager or Ale. junon (131), Honolulu, Hawaii, USA Aug 15, 2008 Meh. Not too much to say about this one. It is a fine representation and a fine beer however nothing of note. I love Samuel Adams’ work but sometimes I wonder why the bother with a lot of their releases. For instance it just doesnt hold up against Sierra Nevada’s pale ale. jake65 (1216), Meridian, Idaho, USA Aug 11, 2008 Bottle: Nice hoppy aroma with a bit of citrus and floral. Flavor is aptly hoppy, some underlying caramel malt. Nice floral bitters trailer. A pleasant suprise and something to look forward to when pickens are slim. WesKBob (145), Bethany, Oklahoma, USA Aug 10, 2008 Pours a clear yellow. Head is thin but foamy and long-lasting with decent lacing. Aroma is strong with piney hops. Hoppiness is still present, but more muted in the flavor. More biscuity malts noted. Nothing outstanding, but a very refreshing beer.
