3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 redgold07 (308) - Irving, Texas, USA - SEP 11, 2008This is a pretty good beer... more head than I was expecting. Aroma and flavor have definite hop and malt presence. A little sweet with caramel malt.
12 oz. bottle.

A-yellow, clear, head has sudsy white head that disappears quickly
A-bready malt, and faint grassy hop aroma
T-light malt, again bread and grass is the most I can really get out of this.
P-thin,crisp body. I keep double checking bottle for lager
O-A great introduction beer, never revisit after that, very blah.

Bottle. Pours gold with a small white head. Malt and toasted grain aroma with a touch of fruit and florals. Caramel and light grain flavor with a touch of fruity and floral hops. Dry and only slightly bitter finish. Flavor mostly dominated by the malts.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Lemke10 (540) - Janesville, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 23, 2013
Sam Adams Pale Ale is probably one of their more bitter beers but it still has that delicious full body taste and smooth texture that Sam Adams is know for. I should mention that even though it does have that bitter taste, the bitterness still doesn’t compare to that of say Stone’s IPA. I would call this a good bar beer to have 1 or 2 of.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 NeoHippie2 (449) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - SEP 2, 2012
Not a bad pale ale. I’d say this one would be a good session brew for sure. Little bit hard to find however. Pours a hazy amber with a white head, Notes of malt and hops on the nose. Well balanced mouth feel. Would pair well with food.

Backlog purge. Bottle poured into a pint glass. Dim gold with white head. Very English with appley Fuggles and earthy Kent goldings, muddled tea-like maltiness, unfulfilling body.

Yellow almost gold pour with white head. Light perfumy hops with a wet dog like odor. Dry hay like maltiness with a perfumy hops bitter. Medium light bodied with aggressive carbonation.

Not the best Sam has but a very decent Pale Ale. Nice hop notes and pretty smooth flavor throughout. Definitely a good beer to enjoy on a hot summer day.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 GTAEgeek (772) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - JUN 1, 2012
12 oz. bottle. Pours gold with a medium, off-white head. The aroma is citrus, floral, and pine hops, hay, and caramel malts. The flavor is sweet, with a subdued but pleasant bitterness. The palate is light to medium, fairly carbonated, and crisp. Overall, this is a straightforward and reasonably tasty ale.
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Onenote81 (1002) - Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA - APR 23, 2012
Originally reviewed: 10/7/10. 12oz bottle picked up in a mixed sixer from Total Wine. Poured into a pint glass. Pours a much lighter than expected pale gold. This looks like a lager. A small finger-width white head on top. Light lacing left behind. Scents of honey, flowers, jello, and faint fuggle hops.
Good crisp ale here. Carbonation level is good, finishes clean. This has great flavor. Excellent balance between the bittering hops and a smooth sweet finish. Floral notes noted in the flavor, as well as some apple notes. This surprised me. I wasn’t expecting much, but this is as accessible of a Pale Ale as one can get. A spot in the fridge is set aside for this one from now on.
