kieleszd (83), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA Jul 23, 2008 An average pale ale by the master macro. Does little with the palate with subtle hops. The malts are the highlight and remain English. Fun to try but not to buy.
Funknmilla (515), Absecon, New Jersey, USA Aug 22, 2008 12oz bottle....pours a nice amber color with a small cream colored head...a sweet clean aroma...a little citrus & a mild grassy scent--a tad of caramel shows up on a deep sniff....refreshing light body...citrus (fresh)...a little malt, tasty but nothing special...hoppy caramel light bitter finish fatti_bobatti (222), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Aug 21, 2008 i like pale ales, love ipas but found this beer to be at best mediocre. defiantly english, aroma is earthy hops and malt. taste is initial heavy sweet malt, caramel, bread and raisins dissipate to earth and resin hops in the finish. a good beer for the style but im not much a fan of English ipas or in the case of this beer, there weaker pale ale little brother. pik5el (40), Pasadena, Maryland, USA Aug 18, 2008 Decent sesson beer. Nothing outstanding, but nothing that tasted bad either. I could drink a couple, but I honestly prefer the Sam Lager or Ale. junon (134), Honolulu, Hawaii, USA Aug 15, 2008 Meh. Not too much to say about this one. It is a fine representation and a fine beer however nothing of note. I love Samuel Adams’ work but sometimes I wonder why the bother with a lot of their releases. For instance it just doesnt hold up against Sierra Nevada’s pale ale. jake65 (1238), Meridian, Idaho, USA Aug 11, 2008 Bottle: Nice hoppy aroma with a bit of citrus and floral. Flavor is aptly hoppy, some underlying caramel malt. Nice floral bitters trailer. A pleasant suprise and something to look forward to when pickens are slim.
