Samuel Adams is currently in the process of brewing up a German style called “radler.” The name radler translates to “cyclist,” A 50/50 (ish) blend of beer and lemonade. (Like a shandy). Perfect for any summer day, Samuel Adams® Porch Rocker was inspired by traditional Bavarian Radlers that mix beer with German-style lemonade. For our bright and citrusy Radler, we blended a Helles beer with lemon for a fresh-squeezed lemon taste, effervescent sweetness, and slightly tart, refreshing finish. A light malt character and hint of hops balance out this summer brew.

Bottle courtesy Naka. Pours yellow with rimming white head, dissipating to a white film. Smells like Lemonhead candies. Lots of lemon up front and in the after with a strong, bread and yeasty malt character. Went into this one expecting junk, but was pleasantly surprised.

12oz bottle 7/24/13 (Binny’s Naperville Mix A Six)-42° in Flute-Pours a clear golden with a small white ring for a head. Aroma of lemonade. Taste of lemonade, malt, and slight hops. This light bodied brew is not what I was expecting but it is not as upfront as a Shandy.

I enjoy the strong lemon taste. There is still a definite beer flavor, so it avoids becoming a wine cooler.

12oz bottle into a pint glass. Pours a crystal clear gold with a one finger white head. Decent lacing and head retention. Aroma is on the sweeter side with lots of lemon and a hint of tea. A little orange is in there too. Not much to let me know this is a beer. Lemon/Iced tea on the flavor with more orange. A very tiny bit of malt in the background but it is faint. Sweet with some tartness from the lemon. Sticky mouthfeel with a slightly bitter finish. Overall, a refreshing summer beer although the sweetness limits drinkability somewhat. i would get it again, though.

Not one of Sam Adam’s better offerings. The lemon flavor was way too over the top in this beer. This was basically heavy lemonade with carbonation and alcohol. The beer has no head and leaves no lacing. The body is way too heavy to be enjoyed in the summertime.

12oz into a glass. Head fades fast and leaves a ring round the glass. Taste is lemon all over. Reminds me of those summer shandys. Blah. not really beer, but this one is not that bad. Sweet orange is in there as well, clemintines i believe. Another easy summer drinker, perfect for the mix pack, but nothing spectacular. It does hold more towards an actual beer than a lemonade drink with alcohol. Color is medium dark gold, aroma is soft hops, lemons, orange. Sum sum summertime.

Bottle. The taste is strong lemon, a little overpowering. Maybe a good beer if it was 100 outside, but too much tartness compared to other shandy beers. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Taste is candy like, featuring lemons and sugar cane. Easy drinking summer beer. For the ladies.

Decent summer refresher with a ton of lemon flavor. Good for sitting outside and pounding a few back in the heat.
