COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Samuel Adams is currently in the process of brewing up a German style called “radler.” The name radler translates to “cyclist,” A 50/50 (ish) blend of beer and lemonade. (Like a shandy). Perfect for any summer day, Samuel Adams® Porch Rocker was inspired by traditional Bavarian Radlers that mix beer with German-style lemonade. For our bright and citrusy Radler, we blended a Helles beer with lemon for a fresh-squeezed lemon taste, effervescent sweetness, and slightly tart, refreshing finish. A light malt character and hint of hops balance out this summer brew.

Lemonade and wheat beer, not as bad as it sounds. Yes it is sweet but very light and refreshing. Great for the beach or a hot summer day.

Tastes and smells like a boozy lemon-lime soda. The taste is crisp and refreshing. I actually really enjoyed it and foresee myself buying a 6-pack for a nice summer night.

Poured up a clear gold with white head. Looked good but that is about it. Smells of lemon Pledge (furniture cleaner). Taste like lemonade with and light beer. Not much of a fan of lemonade so if you are a person that enjoys lemonade then this may be your brew. For me it was not very good but that is what I was kind of expecting so I just picked up one bottle to try. Glad I did.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle with the label clipped Oct 2013. It pours pale yellow with a lingering white, fizzy head. It looks like a light summer beer. The aroma though was overpowered by the orange, lemon, and other citrus characteristics that made it feel more like a fruit drink rather than a fruit beer. The body is light. The taste was fruity sweet to the point of being a bit obnoxious. However this is what it was designed to be and I am certain there are going to be times one could drink this on a hot, humid mid-summer day and feel refreshed.

Tannish yellow and clear. One finger head died pretty quick and left a white sheen and not much lacing. Smells pretty good, very lemony with a note of ginger, much like a glass of fresh lemonade. The flavor is quite shandy-like, and somewhat lemonade like too. It’s sweet with a lot of up-front lemons, and enough of a malt base to know that it’s beer. I can’t detect any real bitterness to speak of. Body is quite light, refreshing, and easy to drink. Carbonation is medium and about right for this beer, and leaves a lightly soda-like lemony tingle on your tongue.. Overall it’s tasty but isn’t fantastic. A nice light addition to the summer 12 pack tho, I’ll certainly enjoy the other bottle as well as this one.

Pour out of 12 oz bottle, clear yellow pour with thin white head, aroma brought notes of lemonade, spice, lemon peel, hints of bread and biscuit. Taste is sweet lemon, biscuit, bread, some slight spice, lemon peel/zesty notes, finishing clean, sweet. Refreshing and actually has fairly authentic lemon flavor, but hard to call it a beer.

12 oz bottle from Campus West. Gold and clear with a small head that dissipates to nothing. Mild aroma of lemons, citrus and lager. Flavor of lemons, lager, tangy and sweet. Light body, crisp feel. Bland and watery, meh.

12oz bottle. Clear golden yellow fizzy white head. Aroma of tart lemonade mostly with some light herbal hops. Flavor is a mix of lemonade and clean pale lager. Light body with active carbonation. It is refreshing but had to call this beer.

If Sam Adams starts making wine coolers it will be their downfall. This beer is a stone’s throw away. Lemony sweet aroma with slight maltiness. Dark golden color that was very clear with a white head. Crisp palate with high carbonation. Lemon, sugar, tartness and some grassy malt. This was the wrong side of sweet in that it came from added sugar and not the malt. This just didn’t do it for me.
