COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Samuel Adams is currently in the process of brewing up a German style called “radler.” The name radler translates to “cyclist,” A 50/50 (ish) blend of beer and lemonade. (Like a shandy). Perfect for any summer day, Samuel Adams® Porch Rocker was inspired by traditional Bavarian Radlers that mix beer with German-style lemonade. For our bright and citrusy Radler, we blended a Helles beer with lemon for a fresh-squeezed lemon taste, effervescent sweetness, and slightly tart, refreshing finish. A light malt character and hint of hops balance out this summer brew.

Bottled. Poured clear Amber. Very lemonade aid flavor. I personally cannot taste anything other than lemon. If I it was a hot day and I wanted to chill on porch or backyard. This beer would be my choice

Pours a thin head on a clear straw body. The aroma is lemonade and grain. The taste is lemonade sweet with lemon tart to balance. The texture is crisp. Enjoyable.

12oz bottles, consumed over the previous weekend. Poured a slightly hazy yellow-copper color with a small off-white head. Aroma was notes of sweet fruits, lemonade, light yeast, bready malts. Sweet radler. Refreshing, but not really my cup of tea. I’d probably drink this again, but only if someone handed it directly to me.

(Bottle). Sample from Mike on my birthday. Aroma of citronella. Flavor of lemongrass and citronella. Strange and weird flavor but in a good way. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Like a light shandy. Easy to drink, always consistent. I’ve had this from a bottle.

Bottle. Pours a clear gold body under a small fizzy white head that faded to a thin film. The nose is lemon Pledge and not a whole lot else. The flavor is much the same, lemonade and a slight influence of pale malt, minimal to no hops that I can tell. Finishes with a lingering sweet-tart lemony note. Light bodied, fizzy, but at least it’s not sticky. One and done with this guy.

This rendition of a shandy is heavier on the beer than most. The base is a pleasant enough lager and the lemon element is tart rather than sweet, which is pleasant because these drinks have a tendency to be too sweet. It’s nothing extraordinary but it is drinkable.

Bottle. Light golden pour with white head. Citrus and light sweet aromas. Flavors are mostly lemonade, light carbonation and sweetness.
