COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Samuel Adams is currently in the process of brewing up a German style called “radler.” The name radler translates to “cyclist,” A 50/50 (ish) blend of beer and lemonade. (Like a shandy). Perfect for any summer day, Samuel Adams® Porch Rocker was inspired by traditional Bavarian Radlers that mix beer with German-style lemonade. For our bright and citrusy Radler, we blended a Helles beer with lemon for a fresh-squeezed lemon taste, effervescent sweetness, and slightly tart, refreshing finish. A light malt character and hint of hops balance out this summer brew.

Pours a clear yellow with a white head that quickly fades. Aroma has a hint of lemon in it. The taste is nicely balanced. A little fruity up front but definitely finishes like a beer. Nice & refreshing. Not bad.

A very light lemony yellow brew. Thin white head. Decent carbonation. Aroma of light lemons. Flavor is of medium sweet lemons. Some bready malts. Not as sweet or sickening as Leugenkugel’s Summer Shandy. I would not buy this again though - not my thing.

Confession - I like Leinenkugels Summer Shandy. So, then I was intrigued by this. It’s lemony, with a hint of hops. It’s also kind of spritzy. Nice and refreshing.

12oz bottle poured into glass. To my knowledge this is my 3rd shandy. Good amount of lemon in the aroma with a slight wheat presence. Definitely something to sip pool side.

Yes, I know the word out there is that this one’s basically the same as Leinenkugel’s Shandy. So what? No one said this brew was supposed to be earth-shatteringly new. It’s just Sam’s take on a radler. That being said, this one is a very good for a warm late spring or summer afternoon or evening. This isn’t boozy, but it’s not a binge drinking beer. This is one to sit, well, on the porch and enjoy. Lemony and just a tad sweet, but barely. Very refreshing.
