Samuel Adams is currently in the process of brewing up a German style called “radler.” The name radler translates to “cyclist,” A 50/50 (ish) blend of beer and lemonade. (Like a shandy). Perfect for any summer day, Samuel Adams® Porch Rocker was inspired by traditional Bavarian Radlers that mix beer with German-style lemonade. For our bright and citrusy Radler, we blended a Helles beer with lemon for a fresh-squeezed lemon taste, effervescent sweetness, and slightly tart, refreshing finish. A light malt character and hint of hops balance out this summer brew.

bottled - not bad. A good summer beer. Lemon flavor, refreshing. Decent - but not great.

Bottle - Pours light amber with a ring of white head. Lemon and a bit of corny malt. Fairlu sweet. Same taste--lemonade and corny lager. Pretty refreshing though the base beer seems pretty gross. Medium bodied with tons of carbonation.

Pours a clear golden with a thin white head. Aroma is some malt wheat and lemons. Flavor is really sweet with lemons and malt. Drinkable but not likable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle on a balcony: hot sunny day in Orange County. 7th July 2014. This golden refreshing brew had a thin white head after 20 seconds. It started off with a good deep looking covering but faded very quickly. Loads of lemon esters in both the nose and taste. Not my usual sort of tipple, but it did the job on the day. Pleased I had one, but we didn’t become lifelong friends and we both moved on.

I cant find any signs of the base beer, just some slightly artificial lemony aromas. The mouth feel is fine, and the carb is good.mthe finish is quite sweet, with a big lemon drop finish. Not my thing, this is just juice.

Pours a bright orange-yellow with a one finger white head with pretty nice lacing. Aroma is of lemons, corn flakes, light biscuit malts, and sweet malts. Taste is about the same as the aroma with a lemonade flavor upfront with some biscuit malts and light grassy hops in the background. Has a medium body with a semi creamy mouthfeel and a semi dry, mostly sweet, medium finish. Overall, a deccent fruit beer that is a pretty nice refreshing, change of pace summer beer.

Shandy coming at ya hot. Watered Dow beer and lemonade. Cracker corn malts and sweet lemon syrup added. Overall I guess it’s drinkable but it’s not good.

Bottle. Pours a golden color with white head. Mostly lemonade aroma. Lemonade, tangy, tart flavors. A touch syrupy. I’m not a fan of radlers, but I could see this as something that would appeal to non-beer drinker types.

Being a fan of both beer and lemonade this beer caught my attention. I was hesitant because I’m a dark beer fan. If I can see my fingers on the other side of the glass it’s to light. Dark beer on a hot summer day is not the best option. However, this beer will be one that I buy during the summer months. Good job Mr. Adems!
