Samuel Adams is currently in the process of brewing up a German style called “radler.” The name radler translates to “cyclist,” A 50/50 (ish) blend of beer and lemonade. (Like a shandy). Perfect for any summer day, Samuel Adams® Porch Rocker was inspired by traditional Bavarian Radlers that mix beer with German-style lemonade. For our bright and citrusy Radler, we blended a Helles beer with lemon for a fresh-squeezed lemon taste, effervescent sweetness, and slightly tart, refreshing finish. A light malt character and hint of hops balance out this summer brew.

Drank from the bottle. Smells like a lemon lime soda. Taste is more like magnesium sulfate lemon lime flavor (you know that nasty laxative). Medium bodied medium carbonation. Not a desirable beer.

Poured from bottle into pint glass: Pours Yellow with a white head. Aroma of lemons and skunk ass. Taste is mildly tart lemon, sugar, and shitty lager. It has that same sucking on a coin flavor as all Sam Adams beers. Light body, heavy carbonation, this is gross.

(bottle - 12 oz) Clear orange with a white head. Subtle but almost sweet lemon and wheat aroma. Some good tartness but mainly sweet. Flavor is a nice tart lemonade, not too sweet, and mixed with a dry and grassy wheat backbone.

From the bottle. Aroma of lemons and faint grains. Flavor followed with even a cola element seemingly mixed in there. Mouthfeel was fully carbonated, somewhat refreshing for a hot sunny day. Unfortunately, the abv is too high to be what it is indended to be. You’re supposed to cut a 4.5 or 5% with the lemonade to keep this a refreshing and semi-hydrating (or non dehydrating) at least) beer.

Nice citrus aroma, comes off a bit sweet. Nice golden color when poured. Taste of slight citrus and hops not to strong. Nice over all palate, doesn’t leave a bad aftertaste.

12oz brown bottle. Clear straw yellow with a small soapy white head. Nose has lemon peel and lemonade with grain underneath. Flavours of straw and bready malt with lemon. Finishes with mild lemonade note. Sparkling mouthfeel. A pleasant enough Radler.

Pours yellow. Aroma is. Citrus fruit, lemon, hay, grass. Flavor is about the same but lighter. There’s nothing bad here its just not exciting. Would be good for when your really hot working out in the yard or something.

Aroma, lemon, tangerines. Appearance, clear orange, No head. Taste was sticky orange lemon tangerine. Some hops, but mostly a light summer beer, though the overly sweet taste made it less refreshing than advertised. Feel, flat, thick for a lighter beer. Drinkable, but medium-low on the totem pole of summer fruit beers.
