COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Samuel Adams is currently in the process of brewing up a German style called “radler.” The name radler translates to “cyclist,” A 50/50 (ish) blend of beer and lemonade. (Like a shandy). Perfect for any summer day, Samuel Adams® Porch Rocker was inspired by traditional Bavarian Radlers that mix beer with German-style lemonade. For our bright and citrusy Radler, we blended a Helles beer with lemon for a fresh-squeezed lemon taste, effervescent sweetness, and slightly tart, refreshing finish. A light malt character and hint of hops balance out this summer brew.

Bottle into a goblet. Pour is a honey yellow with a fine head. Aroma is well lemonade with a malt back. Taste is all most the same as aroma. Finish is a nice bitter lemon, this will be s great drink on a hot day.

From the bottle. Aroma of lemons and faint grains. Flavor followed with even a cola element seemingly mixed in there. Mouthfeel was fully carbonated, somewhat refreshing for a hot sunny day. Unfortunately, the abv is too high to be what it is indended to be. You’re supposed to cut a 4.5 or 5% with the lemonade to keep this a refreshing and semi-hydrating (or non dehydrating) at least) beer.

Nice citrus aroma, comes off a bit sweet. Nice golden color when poured. Taste of slight citrus and hops not to strong. Nice over all palate, doesn’t leave a bad aftertaste.

Pours yellow. Aroma is. Citrus fruit, lemon, hay, grass. Flavor is about the same but lighter. There’s nothing bad here its just not exciting. Would be good for when your really hot working out in the yard or something.

Aroma, lemon, tangerines. Appearance, clear orange, No head. Taste was sticky orange lemon tangerine. Some hops, but mostly a light summer beer, though the overly sweet taste made it less refreshing than advertised. Feel, flat, thick for a lighter beer. Drinkable, but medium-low on the totem pole of summer fruit beers.

355ml bottle poured vigorously with a 2 finger white head that settles to leave a few spots of lacing on the glass. Aroma is lemon and grass. Taste is a grassy hop bitterness with a light malty sweetness and a light lemon tartness in the finish. Like a typical German style lager with a bit of lemon, moderate aftertaste lingers a bit long. Otherwise, a decent brew for the style.

Tasted on 6/20/14 from a capped 12oz bottle purchased at Frugal MacDoogal. Pours. clear golden orange with an average off-white head that slowly recedes to an average collar of lace. The nose is a nice mixture of classic beer malt and sweet lemonade, much like any other radler or shandy. The flavor is about the same, with the lemonade sweet and tart. The body is light with fizzy carbonation and a short lemonade and light beer finish.
