COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Samuel Adams is currently in the process of brewing up a German style called “radler.” The name radler translates to “cyclist,” A 50/50 (ish) blend of beer and lemonade. (Like a shandy). Perfect for any summer day, Samuel Adams® Porch Rocker was inspired by traditional Bavarian Radlers that mix beer with German-style lemonade. For our bright and citrusy Radler, we blended a Helles beer with lemon for a fresh-squeezed lemon taste, effervescent sweetness, and slightly tart, refreshing finish. A light malt character and hint of hops balance out this summer brew.

Got it in the Seasonal 12-pack at Krogers on Broadway. Pale yellow. Small, fast white head. Aroma: Ginger ale, lemon. Flavor: The same with a hint of yeast, tart. Clean finish. Very drinkable... TOO drinkable. It seems more like a lemon soda than a beer. I would take it over a Macro-brew any day but Koch has done better.

Neighbor gave me a sixer of Porch Rocker a month ago. This Radler style beer has been passed over for various homebrews, and even cans of Schaefer with a lime. Thought it was time to sample. Light bodied, with lemon aroma and a white wine flavors. Not a chemical sweet bomb some breweries pass as Radler.

12oz bottle. Straw color with one finger head. Pretty standard radler aroma of lemon and a little wheat. Taste is similar but a little lighter than I like for a radler. Overall it is decent.

Bottle from Chevy Chase Beer and Wine. Golden body with thin head. Nose is apples, candysweet. Taste is apples, fruit and candy. Smooth texture. Lots of apples in the finish too. Not my favorite.

Given to me from the end of a party, enjoyed on a Saturday night while nursing my fractured fibula...don’t play softball! I kinda like this one, easy drinking radler, maybe a tad heavy on the lemonade but is refreshing, has a nice crisp finish. Good summer beer.

This beer attempts to pass as a Radler, but it does not come close to a true German Radler. Drinkable, but still needs some improvement.

Great summer beer with a nice lemony taste. Perfect for hot days in the sun.

Golden straw color, active visual carbonation. Light refreshing body with a pleasing flavor with a nice splash of lemon over a smooth malty base. Drinkable and enjoyable.

Decent radler with solid lemon aroma and flavor. Not much body. Straw color. Wouldn’t buy again.

Bottle at home as I continue the radler/shandy quest so many have tried before. Fine gold pour small whitish head. Nose is fresh lemonade. Tastes of lemons, hint of malt, pine, herbal, touch of sweet nectar on finish. Accomplishes what it set out for and isn’t cloyingly sweet. I can see why folks enjoy this one of better radlers I’ve had yet
