COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Samuel Adams is currently in the process of brewing up a German style called “radler.” The name radler translates to “cyclist,” A 50/50 (ish) blend of beer and lemonade. (Like a shandy). Perfect for any summer day, Samuel Adams® Porch Rocker was inspired by traditional Bavarian Radlers that mix beer with German-style lemonade. For our bright and citrusy Radler, we blended a Helles beer with lemon for a fresh-squeezed lemon taste, effervescent sweetness, and slightly tart, refreshing finish. A light malt character and hint of hops balance out this summer brew.

Tastes a bit like a normal rafler. I think the base beer here was a little heftier than what you would normally use, 4.5 is atypical for a beer of this type. This probably is why it is so sweet and not as refreshing as a radler. And it doesn’t serve the purpose of drinking less alcohol. Sort of a fail on SA’s part.

Sampler pack in Springfield. Very refreshing summer beer. However maybe a bit too lemony acidic. Serving: bottle ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Yeah, it taste like a beer with some lemon juice in it. Fruity and smooth, easy to drink, but really there is nothing memorable about it. However, for what it is - a beer to drink in large quantities in the summer time - I would probably not refuse one.

Pours gold with little head. Smell is a bit of artificial lemon. Taste is like a pale lager with artificial lemon and light bitterness. Crisp carbonation and thin to medium body. refreshing Easy drinking. Decent for a hot day but tastes a bit fake favored.

This beer pours a clear watery gold with a nonexistant head and lots of carbonation. The first sip is surprising. Sweet and tart comabination, lemon, malt liquor, citrus zest, simple syrup. Really strange brew. The more SA strays from the roots, the worse it gets.

12 oz. bottle from Sam Adams summer variety pack. Ar: Stale lemon gatorade aroma. Ap: Pours a clear light gold with little head and no lace. T: Moderately sweet up front, tastes like lemon gatorade. Seems these prepackaged lemon beers always either taste like reallemon or lemon gatorade. A touch of tartness on the finish. P: Medium body. Moderately assertive carbonation. O: I’ve never had a beer advertized as a radler/shandy that hasn’t sucked. This isn’t an exception.

Enjoyed on a hot summer day. Lemonade dominates the aroma and the flavor of this "beer". Quite refreshing really. It has been too long since I had a true German radler to know this stacks up.

Smells like lemon. Tart and not bitter. This is strange...tastes like 95% hard lemonade 5% beer.

Hmmm, this is 50/50 blend? From the sweetness I believe it, but I can see the base of this being 9% beer. Pours crystal clear yellow with a small white head. It smells like lemonade with a mere hint of beer and alcohol. It has a light body that’s still a bit smooth with lots of frothy carbonation. The flavor starts with lemon and spice dominant. There is some blonde ale malt detected beneath lemony stuff. The finish is quite phenolic. Okay for what they were trying I guess, but this isn’t for me.

I see why it is called porch rocker. Sweet fruity taste and smells of fruit also. Lemon taste is noticeable but not over bearing. This is a wonderful brew! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Average fruit beer easy drinking and easy on the palate. Nice beer for a hot day.
