COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Rebel IPA is brewed with 5 varieties of West coast hops: cascade, simcoe, centennial, chinook, & amarillo. Itís everything we love about West coast style IPAís. Big citrus & grapefruit flavors with subtle pine notes for a flavorful refreshing brew.

Poured from bottle into snifter...a crystal clear yellow gold with light white head. Actually smells, looks, and sounds like it's going to be decent. It's got that ready west coast taste, a little lifeless but ok taste with an ok ABV. Not bad, particularly for a Sammy. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Clear, light amber with white head, a little lacing. Aroma is a bit week. Mostly hops, but not strong. Flavor wins some points back, but Iíd count this as an entry-level IPA.

Old Sam could have gotten into difficulties using five west coast hops. But the result is an aggressive, but not overbearing ale. Fruit, light malt, citrus and some pine blend to make a harmonious, robust brew.

Pour is very clear tan brown yellow with soapy bubbles that disappear quickly. some fine bubbles remain around the edge of the glass and at the surface. Smell is fresh sugary malt and grapefruit. minimal roasted character which for me is a good thing and the reason i enjoy west coast IPAs. I think for a boston company they pretty much nailed the style. Taste is right on par with the smell. pretty delicious in my opinion. Lively mouthfeel, fresh taste, well done. time for football.

Bottle. Lightly orange-golden with big foamy head with decent lacing. Piney/grapefruit aroma- nice but not as robust as some. Flavor a little weak kind of lightly bitter. A touch watery, light bitter finish.

Gentle piney hop bitterness and a fair bit of grapefruit that in themselves are pleasant. Overall impression is a bit thin and watery however. Not bad by any standards but forgettable.

They promise a flavorful refreshing brew and they deliver a flavorful refreshing brew. How a mass produced West Coast IPA should taste - even if it is brewed on the other coast.
