3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours tawny amber with an off-white head. The aroma has light spiciness, toasty malt, apples, pears, hazelnuts and an overall mushiness. Medium crisp body with sharp carbonation and a wateriness to the finish. The flavor starts with toasty musty malt and lots of rye spiciness. The finish has mostly spice. It an okay beer.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz. bottle sampled at the 2010 NFB&WF at Martha Clara Vineyard. Pours a clear amber with a linen white head. Pleasant aroma of malt, somewhat sweet, with a lesser amount of rye grain. The flavor is similar to the aroma with malt, again with some sweetness, along with some rye grain. Reminds me a bit of a doppelbock. Very light bitterness at the finish. Nice solid beer.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours copper orange with very little head. Aroma was of sweet malts with spices and a little bit of hops. It is very crisp and has a very strong rye taste to it with back end spices and hops. Overall a solid beer that I wouldn’t mind seeing in 6 packs or in bigger sampler packs instead of some of the other stuff they put in there.
