Pours a nice reddish color but really doesn’t have much of a head. There is a bitter aftertaste that I really don’t care for too much. It’s okay but wouldn’t buy it in a bar.

Jul 31, 2008 pours a nice amber color with big head that reduces to a light film on top. taste is of burnt roast and malts with some smoke flavor as well. finish is clean and goes down smooth. not a bad brew.

Jul 10, 2008 Bottle. Dark Brown with a full beige head. Creamy palate. Malt aroma. Malty taste with a slightly bitter finish.

Jul 3, 2008 Pours a tawny brownish red with a creamy tan head. Nose is caramel and barley. Rich and creamy on the palate. Slight peat taste, along with burnt toast and coffee, but not overly smokey. Dry finish. Very satisfying flavor that pairs well with red meats or haggis.

Jul 1, 2008 Went into this a bit nervous as I hadn’t heard great things about this beer. was pleasantly surprised. pours a dark caramel color. has a good flavor that finishes with the smokey taste. An interesting change of pace.
