COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Samuel Adams® Summer Ale is an American wheat ale. This summer seasonal uses malted wheat, lemon zest and Grains of Paradise, a rare pepper from Africa first used as a brewing spice in the 13th century, to create a crisp taste, spicy flavor and medium body. The ale fermentation imparts a background tropical fruit note reminiscent of mangos and peaches. All of these flavors come together to create a thirst quenching, clean finishing beer perfect for those warm summer days.

Pours thin and taste thin. Nothing going on here at all. Seems to me that all of this brewers beers all taste the same.

I wasn’t very impressed with the ’grains of paridise’. I just didn’t care for it, it was too spicy for me.

Softly spoken in the glass. A lot of rousing only caused a dash of carbon dioxide to release like suds in the ocean to recede back to a flaccid, thin pad of white. Very minute bubbles stream slowly to atmosphere in its hazy sandy yellow body. Candied lemon and fairy floss, melted plastic and gritty wheat malt comes through on the nose. Pronounced sharp and sour lemon zest in the mouth with hints of more lemon juice and drabby peppery spice. Finish is acrid, spicy and soapy. Pasty, dry and foamy in mouthfeel with a lot of milled wheat grain mid-palate. No honest fruit esters detectable. Just left me wondering what it’s supposed to be? Pours hazy amber with a small head. Nose shows orange peel, wheat, lemon and sweet clean malt. Flavours include wheat and lemon along with some vegetable characters and spices. Carbonation is a bit excessive really.

A beer. The flavor is very moderate and very safe. Nothing interesting. Better than macrobrews, bottom of the barrel of microbrews

This is a very good summer beer. Nice and light with a crisp refreshing finish. Better than any major distributors lighter beers due to the lemon spcie subtleness.

Flaske 0,355l delt med Rune på Blå Rock Café i Tromsø 30 Jun 11. Overraskelse. Det har vært så som så med fornying i ølutvalget de siste år, men her var det sannelig en nyhet! Gylden. Lavt skum. OK fruktig aroma. Smaken lett fruktig med litt krydder. Vemmen ettersmak av ubestemmelig krydder.
