Samuel Adamsģ Summer Ale is an American wheat ale. This summer seasonal uses malted wheat, lemon zest and Grains of Paradise, a rare pepper from Africa first used as a brewing spice in the 13th century, to create a crisp taste, spicy flavor and medium body. The ale fermentation imparts a background tropical fruit note reminiscent of mangos and peaches. All of these flavors come together to create a thirst quenching, clean finishing beer perfect for those warm summer days.

Aroma: Citrus, especially lemon, a smidgeon of wheat, hops Appearance: Yellow, light, small white head. Taste: A lot of lemon, a little wheat Palate: refreshing, as expected. Overall: A bit too boring and a bit too much lemon, prefer other wheat beers more. Refreshing but ehh.

Pale golden pour with light spice on the nose and a lack of any real flavor. Finishes with a light, slightly astringent bitterness. Pretty boring beer from a great brewery.

From tap. Yellow gold with medium head. Aroma is sharp with citrus notes and an artificial note that I canít place. Taste is sharp citrus and a dry after taste that is quite stale.

I had it from the bottle. It had a skunky aroma. The taste is citrus and wheat. It has a pretty full mouth feel. Itís overly sweet and heavy to be a good summer ale in my opinion. It could stand to be crisper and hoppier.

Bottle. Pours clear amber with a creamy white somewhat lasting head that leaves some lacing. Weak aroma of grass and lemon. Very lightly bitter, thin body, average carbo, flavors follow nose though very subtlety and a thin brief barely bitter finish.

Strong malted wheat notes upfront with some mild hoppiness and light berry sweetness. Not the best but certainly not the worst.

Iím not in love. Large plastic cup pour of somewhat of a deeper honey golden with a thin white head that doesnít hold and dissipates quickly. Aroma is wheat, grains, malty, a little fruit. I actually maybe get mango in there. Flavor follows, with malty sweetness and a little fruit notes, wheat and grain flavors again. Itís light and sorta refreshing but I donít love it.

Poured out of a can. Hazy dark straw color with a white head. Aromas of orange and a little citrus and spices. Taste of a little citrus zest flavor and spicy taste. Light mouth feel. Nice lacing in the glass. Overall decent beer. But nothing to wow you.
