Samuel Adams® Summer Ale is an American wheat ale. This summer seasonal uses malted wheat, lemon zest and Grains of Paradise, a rare pepper from Africa first used as a brewing spice in the 13th century, to create a crisp taste, spicy flavor and medium body. The ale fermentation imparts a background tropical fruit note reminiscent of mangos and peaches. All of these flavors come together to create a thirst quenching, clean finishing beer perfect for those warm summer days.

A light beer. I was disappointed by this sam adams summer beer. From a bottle it smelled like cleaning supplies. A light lemon flavor.

Going on distant memory from last summer, just realized I hadn't rated this. Well this wheat ale is a good balanced example of the style, featuring straightforward wheat and lemon on the nose and throughout the taste, with some distinct peppery notes. Poured a cloudy yellow-orange, texture is full and grainy to match. Relatively flavorful, and finishes clean enough. I'm not much of a fan of wheat beers but this was enjoyable. Well-done.

12fl oz bottle from El Coleccionista, Gijón. @home 18-2-2014.
In short: a weird ale.
Pours hazy dark gold, with some nice white head. Some head retention, poor lacing. Spicy, sweet, honey and citrusy aromas. Medium body, average carbonation, some crispy texture. Taste is spicy, some honey like flavours, dry sweetness, weird spicy flavours. Still not sure if i enjoyed or not. Quite peculiar.

Great seasonal beer, lots of citrus notes as well as some fruits and floral flavor. Nice to have a couple on a hot summer day ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours cloudy; light amber. Thin head, decent lace The smell is almost non-existent--too mild to evaluate well. I detect some wheat, little else. A classic wheat beer taste. Some sourness and nice spice. Tight carbonation, moderate body. Any easily quaffable brew. Think front porch, watching thirsty people walking by--here’s the beer for that.

Pours a light yellow. Aroma is typical wheat beer. Honestly tastes like any other wheat beer. Weak aroma and flavor. Not bad for fans of wheat beer but could definitely overlook.

Bottled, 355ml from Beers of Europe, Norfolk. Cloudy yellow with short white head. Sweet bubblegum, tinned Tropicana flavours, watery but still overpowering. Forced herby notes. Not good at all.

Citrus and fresh wheat, with a blend of lemon zest, light fruits and hints of black pepper. Very crisp making it a good choice on a warm summer day.
