COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Samuel Adams® Summer Ale is an American wheat ale. This summer seasonal uses malted wheat, lemon zest and Grains of Paradise, a rare pepper from Africa first used as a brewing spice in the 13th century, to create a crisp taste, spicy flavor and medium body. The ale fermentation imparts a background tropical fruit note reminiscent of mangos and peaches. All of these flavors come together to create a thirst quenching, clean finishing beer perfect for those warm summer days.

Admittedly, I don’t like wheat beer, but this has sort of a garbagy smell, and the main citrus and bread tastes are followed by a garbagy aftertaste. Not very good.

Golden yellow color, not much aroma but smell is not that important to me. Taste is easy clove and maybe faint banana. Smooth summer drinker

a) I like wheat beers b) i like unfiltered beers c) i think citrus is sublime in summer d) ipso facto i like this beer. rec: hang a small cross sectional slice of lemon and use that as a palate cleanser at the end of your beer

Hazy yellow body. Tiny white head. Draft. The aroma is weak but pleasant with herbal tones, the taste fruity with a full palate.

Best by 08.2016. There is not much aroma or flavor here. It has a bit of lemon, wheat, with some spice on the back end. Meh.

Ahh, one of the beers I loved before I knew what beer could be (the other was micheloeb’s amberboch). The aroma is faint cereal grain and faint lemon. Taste is cracked wheat, some orange, and some lemon. Not too much else. It’s not bad, but not great. I will give it kudos for being so bubbly in the glass and creamy on the tongue.

12 oz bottle. Hazy dark straw color with a white head. Aromas of orange and a little citrus and spices. Taste of a little citrus zest flavor and spicy taste. Light mouth feel. Nice lacing in the glass.

Sample at Super Saver grocery store. Bottle poured cloudy, white head. Aroma was lemon juice and lemon. Taste was slightly bitter, soapy, wheat.

Basically no aroma on this one at all. Pours a lackluster yellow with an off-white head. Flavor is bitter but not in a good way. This beer doesn’t have much going for it.
