Samuel Adamsģ Summer Ale is an American wheat ale. This summer seasonal uses malted wheat, lemon zest and Grains of Paradise, a rare pepper from Africa first used as a brewing spice in the 13th century, to create a crisp taste, spicy flavor and medium body. The ale fermentation imparts a background tropical fruit note reminiscent of mangos and peaches. All of these flavors come together to create a thirst quenching, clean finishing beer perfect for those warm summer days.

Bottle. Light and cloudy in color. Not much in the way of aroma. Very bland - hardly any flavor at all. Luckilly it was one bottle at a restaurant rather than a 6 pack or case.

Strong malted wheat notes upfront with some mild hoppiness and light berry sweetness. Not the best but certainly not the worst.

Iím not in love. Large plastic cup pour of somewhat of a deeper honey golden with a thin white head that doesnít hold and dissipates quickly. Aroma is wheat, grains, malty, a little fruit. I actually maybe get mango in there. Flavor follows, with malty sweetness and a little fruit notes, wheat and grain flavors again. Itís light and sorta refreshing but I donít love it.

Poured out of a can. Hazy dark straw color with a white head. Aromas of orange and a little citrus and spices. Taste of a little citrus zest flavor and spicy taste. Light mouth feel. Nice lacing in the glass. Overall decent beer. But nothing to wow you.

Pours a hazy gold color with no lacing or head retention. Smells of citrus hops and lemon. Tastes lemony with a slightly sweet finish, not too hoppy. A solid summer drink. Prob a session beer.

Old rating. Bottle from Old Town. Aromas like any other adjunct lager. On the palate some citrus is noticeable though. Clean, crisp and refreshing but boring.

Bottle: Poured a orangeish yellow with a fair white head. The aroma was faintly citrus but the flavor was spicy and fruity. Easy to drink with no bitterness nor aftertaste.

12 pour from refrigerated bottle into wheat glass. Clear, deep yellow, small head, a bit of lacing. Nose is weak. Fruity. A little orange. Mouthfeel is weak-to-moderate. Taste is an alright wheat. Taste is wheaty, orange, maybe coriander. Alright drinking beer.

I thought it was a nice, light, refreshing, easy drinking beer. It looked great and very inviting in the pilsner glass. Not much of a nose. The taste was a little watery. a nice overall beer, but nothing memorable about it.
