COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Samuel Adams® Summer Ale is an American wheat ale. This summer seasonal uses malted wheat, lemon zest and Grains of Paradise, a rare pepper from Africa first used as a brewing spice in the 13th century, to create a crisp taste, spicy flavor and medium body. The ale fermentation imparts a background tropical fruit note reminiscent of mangos and peaches. All of these flavors come together to create a thirst quenching, clean finishing beer perfect for those warm summer days.

It is light and cloudy in color with a medium head. The aroma is wheat and citrus. You can taste lemon, wheat, and orange. It is sweet and refreshing.

Very summery aroma but the taste is a bit too grapy or zesty for me. It leaves just a bitter taste and not enough fruitiness.

Keg at The Standard. Hazy golden body with a thin white head. Good lacing. Aroma of orange pith, cigarette butt and white bread. Flavour of straw, apricot and a grassy, bitter finish. Medium body with a watery, slightly oily texture. Soft fizz. Fruity but I feel it doesn’t quite gel.

(Bottle, 0.355 l - BBE Apr 17, from Alko, 20160625) The beer poured golden and hazy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had sweetness, fruitiness and lemonade. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were sweetness, fruitiness, lemonade and mild bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet. A lemonade in a beer bottle. Not for me, thanks.

355ml bottle from Alko. Poured deep golden color with a thin white head. Malts, orange, floral notes in aroma. Bit dull. Not much flavor actually. Quite smooth, light. Lemony finish.

A golden beer, a head is dense, big and blond. Aroma is mild, wheat, fruitness of lemon, and fresh grass. Taste has weird spicyness, some lemon, slightly musty end. Almost medium bodied, fluffy palate. Slightly weird beer and not so good way at this time.

Hazy orange ochre, just remains of head, no lacing. Mildly sweet aroma, mango, ginger, bit spices, grain. Light body, soft carbonation, medium long finish, semisweet. Was not crisp, fresh and refreshing. Bit dull actually. Have to say this bit disappointing from this brewery, expected more.

Can at a wedding in NH. Pours a slightly cloudy pale golden color with a white head. I only know this because someone else had a glass of it. I drank it from the can. Light grainy aroma with a hint of lemon. Taste is slightly sweet. Medium to high carbonation. Fits for summer.

12 oz bottle poured in pint glass. 2 finger white head dissipates modertly quick. Beer is golden color. Somewhat hazy. No real lacing. Aroma is weak. Sorta just wheaty smelling. Taste is lightly sweet and faintly bitter. Average carbonation. Light bodied beer. Smooth. Decently crisp. Refreshing summer beer.

Admittedly, I don’t like wheat beer, but this has sort of a garbagy smell, and the main citrus and bread tastes are followed by a garbagy aftertaste. Not very good.
