afireinside96 (341), Mountville, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 24, 2008 on tap. poured an orangish yellow with a thin white head. smells and tastes of wheat and light fruit. refreshing while it is still cold. ok if there is nothing else available.
redgold07 (280), Fort Worth, Texas, USA Jul 25, 2008 Pours a hazy golden color with a white head. Aroma is citrus and hoppy. Flavor is a bit musty, bitter and citrus (lemon) from hops as well as a little grass and spice.
On tap. jeremyd365 (66), Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA Jul 21, 2008 Hey what a delight! I finally tried this summer brew not knowing anything about it and was pleasantly surprised indeed. I was happy to find that Sam Adams strayed from the common banana or orange-infused summer wheats. The lemon zest and grains of paradise do a great job relaying that summer feel in an original way. Smelled good, tasted good, and was very drinkable, not to mention affordable. RONCOD (57), Pennsylvania, USA Jul 15, 2008 Cloudy yellow color with a foamy white head. Light carbonation with a citrus taste. OK as a light beer. Brewmaster1 (6), Westchester, USA does not count Jul 15, 2008 I love the color this beer pours. But then again most of us are concerned with how it tastes. It has a great summertime taste. Not overpowering, but a very crisp refreshing taste. Has a nice citrus note. Like most Sam Adams beers it’s not overwhelming or too bland. It has a nice medium of flavor. Definitely a great beer for a hot summer night/day. teebeer (24), Minnesota, USA Jul 14, 2008 I hereby announce another S.A. added to my top 10 list. I know, I know. I enjoy a Chimay Triple just as much as any guy who knows a great brew, but as far as good taste+being able to drink more than 1 of them goes, they are the bull’s penis.
I love this ale. It is a perfect drinking beer for a hot afternoon or evening. It goes quite well with any fish or seafood, and is a great tasting, not too heavy refreshment. This is a classic, and I will look forward to every short summer in Minnesota for a chance to buy. That, and the muskie fishing.
