COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This wily red IPA gets its character from the Tasmanian hops that are full of grapefruit, pine and earthy notes creating a bold flavor that threads throughout the taste. The hops are balanced by a core of roasty malts that give this brew body and richness with hints of toffee. This flavorful brew is rounded and smooth with a dry and citrusy hop finish.

An interesting IPA. Fruity hoppyness. Must be the Tasmanian hops used. Sticky palate, and a cloudy dark amber hue. Batch 2.

pretty much taste like you combined an October fest Maibach with an IPA. a sweet carmal malt with slightly bitter hops

Une bouteille partagée par Ben. Merci!

Long Island, NY - 12 oz. bottle poured a nice cherry red with slightly off white head, decent lacing. Aroma was hop heavy. Taste was hoppy with a pleasant bitterness. There is something special about this brew, possibly the malts used. Another surprisingly good beer from Sam Adams ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a dark brown-red with a creamy root beer head. Excellent head retention. Just a nice looking beer in my standard pint glass. Delightful grapefruit and butterscotch (not diacetyl) nose. Grapefruit and caramel malt flavors. A surprisingly interesting and complex beer. This is one of the two above average beers from Boston Brewing I’ve had.

Samuel Adams Tasman Red has a thick, soapy, cream-colored head and a hazy, reddish-brown appearance. with some fairly thick lacing rings left behind. The aroma is of brown bread crust and subdued sweetness. The flavor is the same, with straightforward bitterness present underneath. The mouthfeel is medium to heavy and a bit dirty (in an ale sense), and Samuel Adams Tasman Red IPA finishes dry, bitter, sweet, and pretty well drinkable. Overall, this is a really nice one, and is most certainly worth checking out. RJT

12oz bottle poured into a cold Samuel Adams pint glass. As you can see by the scores, this is really just an average beer. It looks nice, but the smell and mouth feel are all "meh". As is always most important, the taste. Tasman Red isn’t REALLY bitter, but it remains a tad bit too bitter for my taste. This isn’t a terrible beer, but it is really pretty forgettable in my mind... there’s just nothing about it that really STANDS OUT in my mind. I wouldn’t go out of my way to have a Tasman Red.
