COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This wily red IPA gets its character from the Tasmanian hops that are full of grapefruit, pine and earthy notes creating a bold flavor that threads throughout the taste. The hops are balanced by a core of roasty malts that give this brew body and richness with hints of toffee. This flavorful brew is rounded and smooth with a dry and citrusy hop finish.

Some place in Rockville, MD 650ml ($6): Pours a reddish color with a really nice creamy beige head. Aroma is on the malty side, a little earthy, some fruitiness I suppose, but really not that much. Bitter towards the back. A little sweet at the front. Tingling aftertaste from the nice hops. Medium bodied for sure. Good balance of flavors. A good random buy methinks.

Poured into a 10oz glass, out of the tap. Very limited on the tap i think. Pretty expensive beer, but i think its worth it, i dont think i have ever had a red ipa, and im not sure if its a different hop that i am tasting, but something is like nothing i have had before. Its very good.

Beautiful looking beer, clear crimson with a huge chunky head, leaving some thick lacing. The aroma is pungent with fresh hops, citrus, and bready malts. Close to full bodied, it has a nice sweet malty back bone with a huge bitter hop astringency. Lots of pine, grapefruit, and orange. The finish is earthy and toasty with a chewy hop bitterness. A hybrid beer....call it an Imperial India Amber Ale.

Very impressive. One of the best colors I have seen on a pale ale. Also one of the richest aromas. Ruby color and off white head. Sticky lacing that stays on the glass. Aroma of dark malt and resin hops that donít quit! Very impressed sam Adams!!

Bottle. Pours very dark orange, verging on brick-red with some brown hints. Big astringency on the nose: red grapefruit, piney hops and kitty pee. First few sips are a bit of a shock. Intense citrus up front, bracingly bitter on the finish. As it warms, things start to coalesce, with some great biscuit malts, more intense grapefruit, with huge hop bitterness. Odd beer. Donít know if Iíd call it an IPA, but itís fairly well done.

Pouring at the Saturday afternoon session of EBF. Pours a clear ruby tinged brown with a thin beige head. Caramel with light hops. Malt, earthy, but a touch thin. May be thin, but still flavorful. Grainy and earthy malt and toast. Chewy hoppy finish with a long slow bitterness.

Deep red with a massive and annoyingly persistent head. Aroma was light citrus fruit and earth tones with light nutty notes and a bit of toasted malts. Medium to full body. Flavor seemed a bit restrained. It seemed like there was all these tasty treats wanting to burst free but just couldnít muster the strength (Not a temperature issue as this was cool but not cold when served). Light grapefruit, herbal notes, toasted malts, a bit of sweet malts, too. A bit of a let-down, actually.

Wow, what a great beer. It was difficult to find but definitely worth the effort. Itís a great nutty, hoppy taste. It has a great dark brown color and mildly hoppy aroma.

22oz bomber. Ruby-amber-brown, kinda stained-glassy. Steady beige head. Pretty solid appearance-wise. Mellow, brown malt aroma. Pretty solid hoppy Amber, some of that fruity malt twang but also a respectable piny hop backbone. It could have benefited from a little more body, despite the big flavors it is a little thin and watery somehow...I guess if you were feeling nice you could call it clean..and there is the house Sam Adams flavor that still shines through as well, which makes it a little pedestrian. Still a solid offering, not mind blowing stuff, a little soapy in the finish. Would be more respectable if it was there six pack beer.
