COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This wily red IPA gets its character from the Tasmanian hops that are full of grapefruit, pine and earthy notes creating a bold flavor that threads throughout the taste. The hops are balanced by a core of roasty malts that give this brew body and richness with hints of toffee. This flavorful brew is rounded and smooth with a dry and citrusy hop finish.

You either love the malty syrupy flavor or not. It does seem like a cross between a UK style malty base or extract syrup that didnít boil totally! The hops bring an assertive piney grapefruit mix to the sweet base which I really like despite the weird malty flavor I detect and think I recognize from brews I sampled in England once upon a time. There is this cinnamon spice character which others may not like but I like that too. If anyone has a clone recipe, beermail me!

Spicy hops mix with a malty backbone in the aroma. The flavor is tangy and spicy that lead to a dry finish. Very good IPA, a bit off the beaten path and unique.

Nice red color with a big creamy head. Aroma is citrus and sweet. Pretty sweet flavor with some roast in there. The finish is grapefruit and lingers for quite a while. Mouth feel is almost syrupy. A sugary taste comes out a bit after a few drinks. Nice lacing in the glass.

Taste is pine, malt, sugar and maybe a bit of rye. Not bad, but nothing too exciting.

Did not love it. Donít know why. Dark red, viscous like the others in this new series, structured head, good lacing. Nose of sweet malts and caramel. Mouth syrupy, rather than full and pleasing. Taste of caramel and, well, bubble gum, sugar, and nondescript hops. Just did not work for me as a red IPA. Not bad as a red.

Medium brown body, tan head. Nose is caramel, alcohol, pine, a bit of mint. Flavor is caramel, minty & piney hops, honey/cotton candy sweetness. Strong bitterness dominates the finish with slightly burnt caramel.

Bottle. Clear dark brown/amber colored pour, a lasting 1/4 inch head and a nice nutty and spicy hop aroma. Flavor is heavy caramel, some peppery hops and finshes sweet and a little medicinal. Not bad, like a hopped up version of Boston Lager. Iíd buy this again.

Dark brown or amber - really nice head. Huge malt and pine aroma - great hops smell. Lots of hop flavor which pleasantly overcomes a lot of the malt flavor until towards the end of the finish where some caramel notes from the malt come through. Itís a good beer.

UPDATED: NOV 21, 2012 Dark clear red nice creamy head great lacing. Aroma was initial mineral/metallic/nothing but after the head resided and a few sips it has a really nice aroma mostly pine then some spice and herbal along with some roast light carmel .Taste is really good haveing a great hop flavor along with some roasted carmel malt light sweetness, there is a bit of slickness/also seems somewhat salty. There is a bit of a cardboard like middle but maybe just the roasted malt dryness,a bit of cherry with a salty semi sweet roasty bitter finish leaving herbal/pine/salt lingering.Pretty nice-kinda salty though. After an aged batch 1: Does not age to well.B-vitamins. Malts come out heavily then your left over with a hoppy jar of b vitamins.Drink it fresh.

The aroma is really inviting with roasted caramel malt and earthy grassy hops. The appearance is deep amber with a small head. The taste is like the aroma but slightly like cardboard. The palate is average. Overall a very decent beer.
