4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a deep reddish copper with big head, excellent retention and lacing. As head subsides and it warms a little, the aroma is thick with nutty malts and tons of caramel and toffee. Taste is sweet toffee up front, giving way to an earthy hops, and finishes with a light bitterness and earthy malt aftertaste. Smooth and full palate, that thins just a little in the dry finish.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle; poured a dark auburn color with a khaki colored head. Aroma of earth, pine, grapefruit, caramel and roasted malt. Flavor had a more pronounced sweet and caramel component. Hops were not over the top, but persisted throughout each taste. Some notes of toffee in the finish which lingered. Full bodied and showed some nice complexity. Very nice

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Popped with hearty, meaty notes and nipped with a touch of earthy cherries, this IPA is a sweet, complex, ornery beer that has more hard bark on it than other Sam Adams brews. Good.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
12 fl oz / 355mL bottle into a pint glass. Served cool.
Aroma: Lots of caramel up front, backed up by hops and malt.
Appearance: Transparent dark rust / blood red / ruby. Head is frothy, creamy, and light beige.
Taste: Similar to the aroma, the arrival is all caramel, and smoothly moves towards the hops. Really quite interesting.
Palate: Full body. Very smooth. Nice, long finish.
Overall: Not an incredibly hoppy IPA, but a very good one. Itís definitely worth a try. Itís a really fun beer. The caramel towards hop transition in this is great.

Purchased as part of a 12 pack, enjoyed after eating two burgers and a steak on the first nice day of spring. Appearance is a partially dark red with a thin white head. Aroma of crisp malt, also of moderate hops. Taste goes down nice and crisp, decent stuff.

An interesting IPA. Fruity hoppyness. Must be the Tasmanian hops used. Sticky palate, and a cloudy dark amber hue. Batch 2.
