Small Batch Series
The Vixen is smooth and rich with an enticing touch of sweetness that ends with a spicy heat. For this unique brew we used carefully roasted malts and dark cocoa nibs for a full bodied and slightly sweet flavor. To this roasty and chocolaty base we added an element of warmth and spice with cinnamon and chilies. Dark and alluring, this brew will keep you captivated.

Pours a dark black with a creamy head. Has nice hints if chocolate, coffee, roasted malt and cinnamon. Overall a excellent beer.

One of the better offerings in small batch series. Liked the spice and bit of heat combined with chocolate.

Pours a dark brown with a 2-fingered off-white head. Smells of chocolate, bread, roast, hot peppers. Taste is sweet and spicy with a mild bitterness - typical bock bread notes, chocolate, chili pepper, a hint of cinnamon. Taste like a little more hops than typical in a bock.

Type: 22-oz. bomber Glass: Manzanita pint glass From: Costco in San Marcos, Calif., on Dec. 6, 2012 Price: $20 for Small Batch Collection variety 4-pack BOD: None, “Batch 2” on back of label Black with 2-3 fingers of tan head that dissipated surprisingly quickly. No lacing on the sides. Poor retention. Smelled dark chocolate, cocoa powder, caramel, toffee and light cinnamon. Tasted a bit darker and deeper than the smell and with some chili spices. Got dark cocoa powder, chocolate, toffee, caramel and the spicy chili backbone. Medium-to-full body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Spicy smooth finish. My first time having chili in a beer and it was pretty good. Not as much chocolate as I would have thought, but just the right amount of chili. I’d definitely have it again.

Bottle. Dark brown pour, fizzy off whitish head. Very sweet, sugary, cocoa nibs, chocolate, and light spice. This definitely tastes like a Sam Adams choco beer, which is not a good thing in my opinion. The cinnamon and chili are faint, but still noticeable. This is difficult to drink, I had a hard time finishing the bottle.

Pours with medium brown head that disapates quickly. Subtle Aroma of sweet floral. Hints of licorice. Long on the tongue.

Bottle. Black pour with off white head that lasts for a while. Cocoa, Chinese spice, cinnamon, licorice. Smooth with nice balance of sweetness and spice. Finish is more complex and enjoyable than the initial aroma and taste. Not my favorite but a nice bottle

Jet black, funny aroma. Spices and chocolate on the nose but a bit fertiliser-ish too. Lovely rich malty chocy base. Chilli there up front but recedes as it warms. Otherwise a nice, dark rich malt stout

Liked this a lot. Nice deep coffee color, thick and foamy head. Can pick out all sorts of toasty flavors of malt, tobacco, chocolate, coffee, toffee/caramel. The chili comes late to the party - few minutes after sipping you get a hit of chili - not overpowering, just enough to say hello.

Dark brown, off-white head. Licorice atoms. Mostly just tastes like licorice as well. Some chilli spice lingers prominently on the finish but its hard to find the "beer’ in this one, or the. Chocolate for that matter.
