COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Traditional Ginger Honey Ale is an authentic brew that can be traced back to the ginger brews of the late 1700s. In fact, records show that Thomas Jefferson and his wife brewed 15 gallons of ginger beer with fresh lemons and honey every two weeks for daily consumption. Following that tradition, Samuel Adams Traditional Ginger Honey Ale is a highly effervescent beer that is brewed with authentic ingredients from the colonial era, such as fresh ginger puree, lemon peel and wildflower honey. Pale golden in color, the brew has a subtle maltiness with a floral, sweet honey finish. The sweetness of the Traditional Ginger Honey Ale is the perfect partner for sweet and spicy foods alike. We recommend pairing it with a glazed honey ham, Chinese spareribs, or baklava.

Bottle from a bottle shop somewhere in Ohio - thanks to HogTownHarry’s sister for picking it up for me! Shared with jerc. Hazy yellow-gold with a small head. Nose has lots of honey, fresh ginger, and a bit of maltiness. Flavour has a nice hit of ginger off the top, followed by smooth honey notes, and a floral/lemony finish. I quite liked this one.

It’s pretty much all ginger here. Light bodied. Nose of honey and ginger spice. Taste is ginger spice with more ginger and some ginger spice.

An interesting beer.....light, fresh aroma of ginger and honey, along with some lemon. Flavor is primarily ginger, but the sweetness of the honey is detectable, as is the malt and lemon, but that is more in the background. Quite carbonated. A unique brew that is not altogether unpleasant.

Bottle thanks to daknole, October 2006. Dark brown orange with enormous clumps of brown yeasties. A thin white head. Aroma is mostly ginger with some clover honey presence. Taste is almost all ginger. Depends on your taste for ginger.

Well this beer sucked ass. Tasted like someone took a sprite and poured an ounce of bud and fresh ginger in it. YUCK.

12 oz bottle shared at Lost Abbey release. Now see, I can drink this even though many people didn’t like it. I think I really like the Spice Herb Style beers. Spicy ginger aromas with the honey making a serious appearance in the flavor. Pretty tasty.

This was a decent beer, but man it was ugly. Lots of gloppy mess with yeast sediment and what I thought were ginger pieces. It has a strong ginger aroma with a taste like slightly fizzy ginger tea. Sweet in flavor and finish. Lots of sweet ginger. Respectable beer.

Ginger, honey, and lemon, a real nice tasting brew. Really well balanced, especially for being nearly 2 years out of date. Unfortunately out of production as it was a limited edition.

This was just too much for me to handle. This had an aroma of lemon balm tea, slightly like a cough syrup would have. Overspiced, and imbalanced, this is almost undrinkable.
