Commercial Description:
Triple Bock is complex, elegant, and has the depth and complexity of a fine cognac, vintage port or an old sherry. Non-carbonated, ruby-black, and very special, Triple Bock should be sipped from a small snifter in a two-ounce serving. This is a beer to savor, and sip slowly. Triple Bock has a brandy-like warmth and a complex melange of fruity, woody, and toffee-like flavors. Let the aroma fill your mouth and nose with rich malt and fruit overtones. Savor and appreciate its enormous character. Serve Triple Bock as you would a fine sherry, at room temperature, in a small snifter. One bottle generously serves two or three. Recork and store standing up. Once poured into a small glass, the layers of aroma and flavor will continue to evolve as the deep ruby brew warms in the hand.

There have been only three vintages produced: 1994, 1995 and 1997, but bottles can still be found in the marketplace. 1994 and 1995 vintages are marked as such on the back label; 1997 vintage is not.

Bottle. Poured black with no head. Sweet aromas of dark chocolate, fudge, and caramel. The flavor is also sweet with caramel, dark chocolate, and fruits in the background. Nice warming feeling. Medium body and dry. (Rating from June ’07)

Aroma is chocolate, a little bit of catfish bait, soy, more catfish. Taste is sweet caramel, chocolate, more catfish and soy. Not very good. A little bitterness, coats like fucking nobodies business.

1995 bottle. Couldn’t take more than one sip. Must have gone bad. Cork rotted off into the bottle. Sorry Honkeybra. Definitely gave me a bad bottle. Smelled and tasted like taking a mouthful of soy sauce. I’m sorry to even rate it, but I gotsta.

Have no idea what vintage this brew was, but this biotch must’ve been olde. Pours one of the thickest, chewiest bodies I have ever seen in a beer. Opaque black, no head, loads of chunky sediment, evidence of this beer left behind in a trail beer tears that clings to the glass. Resembles a port like beer, Aromas of heavy, dark roasted cinnamon, nutty malt, over ripe black cherries and dark chocolate. Oak smoke and dirt in the flavors.

1995 vintage. Not sure what to say about this one. I found it at a random liquor store in New Orleans. Cork dried out, but it still tasted fine. Pours like motor oil. Once it pours, it fills the room with a deep chocolate, oaky aroma. Heavy on the palate, strong flavor: like a mix between chocolate, sherry, cognac, port. A whole bottle really is too much for one person, the alcohol is noticeable.

No head...but it doesn’t need one. Deep brown/black, aromas are of vanilla, soy sauce, oak, maple, etc. VERY complex. Taste is also very complex with manty of the same flavors as the aromas. The flavor is very strong and is definately meant for sipping.
