4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
22oz bottle poured into a tulip. Batch #1. Pours a clear dark orange/amber with almost no head. Aroma of coriander, orange citrus and bready malt. Taste is light sour and light salty. Lemon citrus and salt, just as described. Medium bodied with a thin texture. Lively carbonation and a long finish. Overall, very good. Iíve never had this style, and probably never will again. Very interesting and another home run from Boston Beer Company.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Sampled on 6/9/2012. This gose pours a slightly hazy orange gold color from a 22oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity and sweet, with a touch of salt and some orange. A medium bodied gose. The malts are fruity and sweet, with a touch of orange and orange peel. The hops are earthy. Decent balance. Nice carbonation. A touch salty and zesty, but mostly fruity and sweet. Very drinkable. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Aroma: Lots of earthy yeast aromas, with hints of cooked vegetables.
Appearance: Cloudy dark gold with a thin white head.
Taste: Immediate medium sourness which is quickly balanced by a light sweetness and finishes with a hint of saltiness.
Palate: Light-medium body, thin milky texture, soft carbonation, long finish.
Overall: I am very intrigued and caught off guard by this beer. There is a great complexity in the flavor that really works well, and no one taste is too overpowering.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Pours a deep straw, with a white head.
Fruity, spicy aroma, malt, caramel, toffee.
Dry, medium body, low bitterness, balanced CO2.
Spicy, slightly salty taste, malt, coriander seeds, apricot, caramel. Lacks the typical sourness I expect from a Gose.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Iím sure Iíve never had a gose before but mostly this tasted like a pretty good amber ale to my wife and I. Perhaps a bit salty and malty, it was easy enough drinking at the pool on a hot las Vegas day.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Clear amber color, fine carbonation, delicate white head. Aromas are bready, yeasty, with slight fruit and pine notes, Flavor is delicate, balanced, with a lingering bitter finish. Itís cool that the folks at Samuel Adams did a Gose.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
I admire the heck out of the fact that SA produced a Gose. My first, so I canít rate to style. Cloudy orange, good persistent head. Faint aroma of citrus (thatís the coriander). Itís not a powerhouse of flavor, but slightly tart, refreshing, and kind of salty in the backend. An interesting beer and a pretty good one.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber bottle from Giant Eagle in Sewickley. Batch 1 according to the back label. Dryness and a prevailing sourness dominate this small batch series. No wonder this style died out years ago. The effort to resurrect the recipe by Sam Adams should be appreciated regardless of the outcome.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 oz. bottle from SoHo Organic Market in Elizabeth City, NC. Hazy yellowish-orange pour with a frothy white head. Aroma of fresh cut lemons, wet grass, and light caramel. The flavor is somewhere between Belgian Wit and Berliner Weisse with noticeable wheat and coriander but at the same time a touch of sourness yet nothing quite as tart even as a Berliner Weisse. As far as I can recollect I have never had anything that quite fits into this style so I can only assume that Samuel Adams had does this style justice. By any estimation this is a unique and enjoyable beer.
