mhelgason (415), Charlotte, North Carolina, USA May 6, 2008 bottle. small white fizzy (quickly dissapating) head into cloudy orange. almost no lacing. aroma okay...lets start with weird. sweet malts...actually have trouble deciphering this as a white ale. soome light spices. flavor is sweet with aceticness. watery texture. not impressive.
tomer (160), Israel Jul 13, 2008 0.33L bottle, small head that disolves quite quickly, deep yellow colour with some orange taints. Malty aroma at first that develops to orange and mandarine and than some mushroom and earthy notes. the taste is very dry with a strong orangy presence acompanied by a scented earl grey tea presence. the earl grey scent is dominant in a relativly short sweet and sour finish. There is something a little "belgian" in character about this beer but the alcohol presence and the body are quite light compared to a belgian wit. Joakgust (60), Stockholm, Sweden Jul 2, 2008 Tap OT, Stockholm - unclear goldish color with a disappearing head. Aroma is rather malty with notes of yeast and spices. Flavor is rather malty, with hints of wheat and some oranges. An ok Witbier. bluemooner (54), Rogers, Minnesota, USA Jun 24, 2008 Pours a clear golden color with white head. Full of flavors including malts and citrus fruits. I enjoyed this beer but it is only one I could have on occasion. rbrazell (14), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Jun 24, 2008 Not a fan. It seems to me all of Sam Adam’s seasonal beers taste the same. Light gold, spice and orange, average and light taste. Bradrcr (532), Renton, Washington, USA Jun 14, 2008 5/26/08 On Draught at Crickets Coeur d’ Alene, Id. Aroma is malty with caramel and solid noble hop flora, no esters, no citrus. Appearance is clear gold with a well maintained white head. Flavor is sweet malt forward with a well balanced noble hop bittering, and again , no herbal notes at all. Mouthfeel is medium/low bodied with a medium carb texture. Overall, whay is this called a White ale? I even checked to make sure it was poured from the right tap, WTF?
