2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Still not my favorite style of beer, but this offering isn’t all that bad of a witbier. Sam Adams’ White Christmas poured a cloudy dark straw color with a fluffy and nicely lacing white head. The nose featured some banana, clove, wheat and grass. The mouthfeel and body was fairly smooth and velvety. I tasted some banana, light clove and a hint of nutmeg in the flavors. There was mostly wheat and dry yeast in the finish, along with some smooth fruity flavors.

Hazy gold colored pour. Small white head. Some lacing. Spices in the nose. Taste is a sweet spicy beer taste. Not much else. Sweet on the finish.

Witbier? Eh. Pours golden with off white head. Weird grass and cinnamon aroma. Orange peel lemon nutmeg taste. Light body medium carbonation. Its OK.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
P: Cloudy piss yellow with a thin white bubbly head. No retention and minimal wet lacing.
S: Sparkling apple cider, wheat, nutmeg, cinnamon candy, mandarin oranges and dry yeast.
T/M: Taste follows the nose and packs a nice warming spice profile to tingle the palate. Powdery drying Belgian yeast hints of tobacco and apples. I get more apple than I get orange but its there. Spicy and citrus hops hit on the finish.
O: A nice blend of yeast and spices. Not overly dramatic but a nice sessional brew to enjoy during the holidays.

From 12oz bottle to tumbler. Pour is a hazy yellow, thin white active head. Nose is intense, lots of orange peel, coriander, spices. Taste is light bodied, sweet with some sour also mixed in. Finishes very carbonated. Decent beer, just kind of simple.

Bottle. Nose of wheat with cinnamon and tons of nutmeg, light citrus and grain. Hazy pour has the whole spectrum from yellow to orange and a creamy, dense eggshell head that laces. Oily, malty medium body with only light carbonation, a crackery resolves, and nice fruity and phenolic highlights to complement the orange and spices. Sweet with a little tang and less bitterness. The subtle cherry splashes here help nudge my impression to that of a holiday beer, but regardless this one’s just way too gaudy.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
From the winter sampler: Pours out a hazy, almost orange amber with a thick white head. Aroma is very faint flowery. Flavor is crisp, light citrus that follows up with a spice regimen that belongs in a holiday pie. Very light for a winter beer, but a good brew.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Hazy gold pour with a 2 finger, creamy white head. Lots of cinnamon and nearly as much nutmeg in the aroma, toasted wheat, sweet, mellow citrus and a touch of bread. Flavor is sweet floury wheat up front, then strong, almost warm cinnamon, dried orange peel and a little earthy, spicy, nutty nutmeg to the finish. Light to medium body with a mostly neutral, somewhat syrupy and oily feel, light to medium, blanketing and slightly sharp carbonation. Not really my kinda thing, but not bad, I could see it going well with some winter festivities and some sweet dessert breads.
