As crisp as the first snowfall of the year, this unfiltered white ale is blended with holiday spices including cinnamon, nutmeg, & orange peel. The familiar citrus and wheat characters of the ale are complimented by the warmth of the spices for a festive brew thatís perfect for the season.

Bottle. Pours an orangish yellow, minimal clouding. White wheat. Aroma is very spicy for this style, so much so itís hard to even classify it in this category for me. That being said- aroma is spices- nutmeg, cinnamon, brown sugar, also oranges and lemon. Taste is sweet with spices. Very enjoyable beer.

Type: 12-oz. bottle Glass: Karl Strauss pint glass From: VONS in Normal Heights (San Diego), Calif. Price: $14.99 for a winter variety 12-pack Purchased: Nov. 1, 2013 Consumed: Nov. 1, 2013 Misc.: Enjoy by March 2014 Poured an orange hazy color with 2-to-3 fingers of off-white head. Sporadic spots of lacing along the sides of the glass. Average retention on the top. Smelled a lot of different notes combined into one. Got orange peel, cinnamon, nutmeg, gingerbread, molasses and even a bit of pumpkin. Some other wintry spices in there as well. Tasted a lot like the smell, but a little lighter. Got orange peel, nutmeg, cinnamon, molasses, gingerbread, cinnamon sticks and honey wheat . Light-to-medium body. Oily-to-creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long finish. I really enjoyed this one. Iíd definitely have it again. Just a lighter winter beer.

This bottled brew from a grocery store poured a large sized head of foamy finely sized off-white colored bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a typically carbonated transparent light yellow orange colored body and a good lacing. The mild aroma was musty mild malt and mild wheat. The mouth feel was tingly at the start with a mellow finish with a mellow herbal aftertaste. The ok flavor contained notes of semi-sweet mild lager mild wheat mild hops herbal and crisp. An OK brew just nothing special.

Late rating. 12 ounce single bottle from Sam Adams Winter variety pack. Pours a light gold color with a small white head. Aroma of grain, citrus, and spices. Taste is citrus, nutmeg, cinnamon, and other spices. Too many spices in this beer - it seems like they tried way too hard with this. You canít drink more than one of these in a row - the spices are overwhelming.

THOUGHTS: Fine wit. I just donít seem to get the Christmas part of it. Would make more sense if it was double wit. In its current form it would be a better summer beer. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a murky, medium to dark, milky yellow with orange lurking around the edges and an average, white head that mostly diminished. The aroma had moderate wheat; moderate yeast; hints of spices and some citrus fruit. The initial flavor was lightly sweet and moderately acidic; while the finish was moderately sweet and lightly acidic with an average duration. There was wheat, citrus, both lemon and orange, and hints of spices. The light to medium body was sort of creamy and then dry with fairly fizzy carbonation and a slightly astringent finish.

Bottles. I really like white beers, and this was no exception. Malty, bready, full of hops and orange - taste is sweet and refreshing as well. Pretty good beer, I really liked it. Probably will be getting more of this come Christmas time.

Pours with a hazy yellow hued body with a lasting and retentive tan head. Aromas are not quite as estery as you would expect a wit to be. Quite malty with lots of spices. Flavor is similar with distinct notes of each individual spice. A rich bready and crackery malt character. Fuller carbonation, off-dry.
