3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Happy Kwanzaa. 12oz bottle, 2012 Winter Classics Variety mixed 12pk. Pours cloudy golden yellow, white fizz. Aroma of a heavily spiced Wit. Smells of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves, coriander, wheat malt. Loads of winter baking spice in the nose. Creamy, thick textured. Tastes thin. Flavors of pale wheat malt, some nutmeg, clove. Not what I had expected. Aptly named. (3562)

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours a hazy, full-bodied, light-colored golden-orange, the head substantial and pock-marked. The initial whiff is of an herb garden. This drinks with quite the complement of herbal character, yet is still light and easy to drink. Nice option for the holidays. (#4871, 12/26/2012)

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pour out of 12 oz bottle, slightly hazy orange with white head, aroma is odd but like the description, some notes of wheat with lemon, orange, slight biscuit notes but right away goes into ginger and cinnamon, some clove as well. Taste is just as odd, with some slight clove, ginger, and cinnamon, mixing into sweet fruits with some white grape, slight peach, lemon, and orange, finishing fairly sweet, drying out a touch from the spices. Interesting.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
I thought that the idea of this beer was very clever, but it didn’t come out all that well. This is your typical Belgian Wit, but watered down. The spice profile (cinnamon instead of corriander) works out great, but the body of the beer leaves much to be desired. Not at rich as the style usually is.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
12-oz bottle. Pours a very dense and hazy dark gold color. Slight, fading fine-bubble white head. Spicy aroma of nutmeg. Medium body with effervescent mouth-feel. Slight citrusy character matched with dry nutmeg notes. Overall, wheaty, well-carbonated with supporting spice and zesty notes. OKAY.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
12oz bottle. Unfiltered yellow-tan body with a thin, white head. Cinnamon dominate overspiced aroma. Wow, this is 100% overspiced, reminds me of some of the more awkward US saisons from a few years back. Whereas a good Wit is subltle and delicate, this is heavy-handed and brutal. Lacks any semblance of balance...the spices kill it. Try again.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Hazy yellow, white head. Nose cinnamon, spice, ginger, and gum drops. Easy palate, heavy spices, followed by cinnamon, wheat, and light fruit.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Capone’s. Pours turbid straw colored toward orange with 1-finger frothy white head. Nose is spicy orange zest, coriander, hopcitrus, Tastes semi-sweet, with upfront notes of orange zest, malt, and then a spice medley kicks in, with the coriander and x-mas spices hitting the tongue. This one is unique, although not terribly complex.
