As crisp as the first snowfall of the year, this unfiltered white ale is blended with holiday spices including cinnamon, nutmeg, & orange peel. The familiar citrus and wheat characters of the ale are complimented by the warmth of the spices for a festive brew thatís perfect for the season.

Iím not sure Iíd consider this a witbier, as I didnít get any of the usual phenols and esters associated with that yeast, rather it seemed an ordinary wheat beer spiced with all the listed spices. The nutmeg came through the strongest, giving it an overall spice profile very similar to Anchor OSA in both aroma and flavor. Fairly solid malt/grain balance, drinkable enough and the spices werenít overdone.

Pours a yellow color with aroma of spices and nutmeg. A distinct cinnamon taste that goes down smoothly. The mixture of orange peel adds some fruitiness that compliments the entire beer. This is one of Sam Adams best in my opinion.

Poured a hazy orange color with about an inch of foam that spent itself quickly. Sme decent lacing in a Samís pint. Aroma was typical wheat beer, very faint on the spices. Noted orange, nutmeg, cinnamon, maybe cardamom?, coriander. Taste was average. Nothing outstanding, but nothing bad either. Some spice notes, typical wheat beer haylike flavor, very slight bitterness. Lingered a bit on the tongue, but somewhat thin mouthfeel overall. Nice carbonation level. Wife liked it...but there are better examples of the style.

Pours gold with white head and no lacing. Aroma of orange, nutmeg, and allspice. Taste is well balanced with lots of coriander and spices.

Smells better than it tastes. A pretty middle of the road Belgian spiced white. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle from sampler at Ericaís parentís around or on Christmas. Hazy peach-yellow pour. Nose has a little bit of citrus, but overall this beer lacks the citrus zest I love in witbiers. Not bad at all, though. Easy drinking, like all of the beers in the sampler pack, and good enough to probably be my favorite of the 6.

Mush Doggie Mush! I fell for the $11.99 sampler pack at the store yesterday. Muted hazy yellow in the glass. Rounded and decently spiced Belgian white. Cinnamon and orange peel noticeable. Sweet honey train follows thru to finish. Too bad there were only two of these in the 12 pack, as I could have consumed four of them with ease.

This is simply Sam Adams White Ale repackaged and sold as a different beer. I really enjoyed White Ale and when they replaced it with Noble Pils I was devastated. Glad they brought it back but, 1. It is only available in the Holiday Sampler pack and 2. Noble pils isnít that great and by far a sub par replacement for White Ale.

Samuel Adams White Christmas has a thick, frothy, slightly off-white head, a hazy yellow-golden appearance, lots of streaming bubbles, and a thin lacing sheen left on the glass. The aroma is of white wheat bread and spices. Taste is of the same, and one will encounter no bitterness, here. Mouthfeel is medium and soft, and Samuel Adams White Christmas finishes slick, easy going, and drinkable. Overall, this is a stereotypical Christmas beer, and I think itís worth trying. RJT

Tan and hazy with a half finger head that didnít last long and left ok lace. Definitely lots of clove aroma, banana, spices, a little yeast. Taste is spicier than a typical wit, festive and xmas like. Wheat, cloves, banana, cinnamon, and yeast fill the flavor. Body is light and easy drinking with a spicy finish. Overall itís pretty average.
