As crisp as the first snowfall of the year, this unfiltered white ale is blended with holiday spices including cinnamon, nutmeg, & orange peel. The familiar citrus and wheat characters of the ale are complimented by the warmth of the spices for a festive brew thatís perfect for the season.

12oz bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a cloudy darkish yellow with a little over a finger of thick white head. Aroma of banana, clove, a little citrus and some baking spices. Taste is light sweet. Clove, banana, cinnamon, wheat, christmas spices and a little citrus on the finish. Medium bodied with a somewhat thick and slightly creamy texture. Lively carbonation and a long finish. Overall, not bad. I would be happy to drink this one again.

12oz bottle. Pours a hazy golden color with minimal white head. Aroma of cinnamon and oranges. Interesting flavor, with wheat and yeast character of this beer mixing with the orange and cinnamon notes. Light and smooth finish. Nice holiday beer.

pours like a summer wheat ale but has the aroma and taste of the standard Sam Adams Winter Lagar.

Looks like I liked this more than most. Pours cloudy yellow / orange with a large soapy off-white head. The aroma has lots of spiciness (cinnamon jumps out most), orange peel, smooth wheat, powder and an overall dryness. Medium smooth body with fairly soft carbonation. The flavor starts with a gentle spice blend (lots present, but itís not harsh) balance by rich smooth wheat. The finish has light plasticy taste, but not too big. Large amount of nutmeg and cinnamon that lingers. Nice unique holiday beer.

Cloudy tangerine color with a white head thatís short-lived. Thick, yeasty aroma with lots of fruity esters. Tastes like a BPA with a little gingerbread spice. Pretty good. Itís a bit thick, but thereís really not much else bad to say about it exept for the wimpy head.

Pours hazy pale gold into a Sam glass. Bright white head with good retention recedes to coat surface leaving no lacing. Cinnamon and sweet citrus aromas. Dry with sweet yeast and caramel upfront turning to cinnamon and nutmeg in the lasting earthy bitter finish.

Iím pretty sure Samuel Adams White Christmas is simply their White Ale with a few tweaks. It seems bit more orange-tasting and mellow this time around, while having a bit more drinkability to it. Iím not sure what makes this a Christmas beer, but Iíll drink it even if it seems out of season.

I poured a 12oz bottle into the official Samuel Adams glass.

Appearance: Extremely hazy tangerine orange colored body. Forms a small, off white, foamy head which mostly dissipates and leaves almost no lacing on the glass.

Smell: Orangepeel and nutmeg with the nutmeg being a bit stronger.

Taste: While itís not the most delicious beer in the world, Samuel Adams White Christmas certainly is an interesting one. Itís got a lot of the same spices and flavor characteristics found in a pumpkin ale but without the actual pumpkin. And on top of that itís a witbier, but an obviously Americanized one so the wheat character is lacking. Itís best described as a drinkable potpourri.

It begins with strong nutmeg and cinnamon spice to give it a bit of a rustic feel. I sense some clove as well, though the label does not indicate the beer is brewed with it. Through the middle comes the orangepeel and an almost orange juice-like taste to give it some sweetness and a hint of tartness. The ending reverts back to the original nutmeg flavor, but more mellow this time before finishing somewhat clean. Itís a satisfying palate and one thatís more interesting than it is impressive, yet thereís no obvious flaws.

Drinkability: The citrus component to this beer makes it a bit refreshing, especially combined with the somewhat thin and crisp mouthfeel. The spices impart some dryness, though, and leave a subtle pasty aftertaste. The mouthfeel is quite comfortable and itís smooth going down. At 5.6% ABV, Samuel Adams White Christmas is quite efficient for its weight as itís flavorful enough but nothing that will overwhelm anyone.

Bottle. Cloudy yellow with a tall foamy head. Light wheat aroma with sweetness and a little spice. Full body but a little syrupy. Overall pretty good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
