COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
As crisp as the first snowfall of the year, this unfiltered white ale is blended with holiday spices including cinnamon, nutmeg, & orange peel. The familiar citrus and wheat characters of the ale are complimented by the warmth of the spices for a festive brew that’s perfect for the season.

12 oz. bottle. Pours hazy amber orange with a white tight soapy head that leaves a film. Aroma has spice like clove nutmeg and orange rind with yeast. Taste has strong nutmeg, clove and soft, but noticeable orange rind with a bread yeast finish. Palate is medium and chalky with a drying finish. A decent seasonable brew.

Bottle: Cloudy orange-amber body with an off-white head that fizzles away quickly. Heavy orange peel, coriander, cinnamon, & nutmeg in the aroma. Modestly spicy yeast. Flavor is more Belgian wit than the nose would indicate. Lots of straw, spicy & bready yeast, wheat, orange zest, coriander, & hints of clove. The cinnamon & nutmeg are present towards the finish, but lighter. A touch metallic. Meh, not terrible.

Golden with a decent white head. Aroma is mildly fruity with a big of citrus. Flavor is crisp with a bit of orange peel. Not bad, but nothing great.

Head disappears quickly. Good color and the taste is good. Enjoy Cold Snap better but not a bad second.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a thin poorly retained, off white head, over a slightly hazy light amber (SRM 8) body.....nose is light cereal malts, nutmeg, slight citrus, herbal hops, light cinnamon, balance to the spices.....taste is light fruits including orange, light cinnamon, hints of nutmeg, cereal malts, finishing with a light herbal hop bitterness.....mouth feel, light body, no alcohol, light carbonation. This is a fairly nondescript beer. The spices were used with a light enough hand to be almost non existent, and the malts are also. This is a failed experiment. BJCP 5/2/10/3/5

DATE TASTED: December 19, 2014... GLASSWARE: Ommegang Rare Vos... OCCASION: the last shopping trip done... APPEARANCE: pours a fizzling, rapidly diminishing off-white head; body is a hazy orange with little effervescence, belying its pour... AROMA: pungent, aromatic flowers; thick, musty coriander, mulled wine and faint orange peel... PALATE: warm, middling and rather mild; a blunted finish...TASTE: slight, sour, oddly malty at its end with cardboard-like grain; matted flower esters too, with some cinnamon and spice--surprisingly not an enjoyable combination ... OVERALL: usually Sam produces some new treats during the Christmas season, but this one is more of a trick, with uneven mouthfeel and odd flavors that left it largely untouched at our holiday get-together...

Sample. Clear golden color with thin white head. Banana and pepper aroma. Taste is similar, not bad, but not special

Not my thing. Holiday Spiced up white ales are on a bit of an uptick during the holiday season. The additives distract instead of compliment the wit and is a too fruity sweet unpleasant mess. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma is wit bier and nutmeg. Orange and coriander. Pour is a hazy gold with a decent white head. Taste is very light, not very good as either a winter beer or a wit.

Not bad, not great. Fair entry into the winter ales. Doesn’t over do it and doesn’t under do it. Spices aren’t very prominent but overall flavor is descent.
