COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Belgian style white ales have a long history of unique ingredients, as brewers experimented with spices discovered during the spice trade. For our hazy brew we found a refreshing combination of crisp wheat, the tangy sweetness of tangerine & orange peel, and the subtle spiciness of coriander & grains of paradise. Cheers!

this beer has all the right quality of what a white ale should taste like, the problem is it seems to focus too much on the orange aspect and not enough of the beer, its a bit oversweet with flavor of coriander and orange peel. not really spicy but more fruity. still worth a drink though.

Aroma is citrus/orange, spices and fruit. The flavor is spices, citrus, wheat and a tangy/mildly tart finish. Best Sam Adams Witbier.

Color is more orange than most wits. Aroma is slight orange and wheat, pretty faint. Flavor is a chilling wheatness, some spices, a bit wintery, but alsa a bit savory. Aftertaste is a dry warm orange liquor, but very subtle. Not the best wit iíve had,but also not the most bland.

"Spring Thaw" mix pack 12 oz. bottle. My Sam Adams perfect pint glass shows a hazy gold with thin white lasting head. Smell is citrus and spicy wheat. The taste is fruity, lots of orange peel, lemons, and thin bread malt. Really to me it takes like a Sam Summer with spices added. Flavor really is nearly identical. Well, I applaud Mr. Koch for smart marketing strategy. This and a few others (Maple Pecan Porter and Double Agent IPL) are only offered in the Spring Thaw pack.

This is a pretty ham fisted take on the style but not entirely w/o merit. Think something along the lines of Blue Moon. Itís cloudy orange w/ a nose dominated by perfumy floral spice. The flavor is a touch on the sweet side and the texture is wheaty and somewhat thick. Personally, I prefer a more subtle wit but I could get by w/ this stuff in a pinch.

Rating this knowing it very well might be an alias of the White Ale. 12 ounce bottle. Pours a hazy orange color with a large creamy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of toasted wheat, dry citrus, caramel and a spicy finish. The taste is big spice and citrus, pale wheat, a tropical note. Medium bodied.

Pours a merky golden color with a huge, white foamy head. Aroma is fruity. Taste is crisp. Has a hint of orange and spice. The commercial description is acurate.

Bottled. Hazy oranged-yellow with a large, bright-white head that is mostly lasting, leaving thin yet tight lacing. Orange peel nose dominates and the grains of paradise is noticeable but (thankfully) subdued. I canít help but pick up a bit of bile in the nose as well - something about the acidity of the citrus fruits, I suspect. Brightly sweet flavor with spicy black pepper undertones. Clean, wheaty finish. Overall, a pretty standard wit.

Hazy yellow with a disappearing head. The orange and coriander hit the nose with a crisp tartness. The flavors of the coriander and the grains of paradise are sharp but the body is a bit thin. The aftertaste is that of a clean tart.
