Belgian style white ales have a long history of unique ingredients, as brewers experimented with spices discovered during the spice trade. For our hazy brew we found a refreshing combination of crisp wheat, the tangy sweetness of tangerine & orange peel, and the subtle spiciness of coriander & grains of paradise. Cheers!

Pours hazy bright yellow with small white head. Subtle aroma of orange peel and wheat. Light bodied with some spiciness and tangerine notes. Has me counting the days until spring. Good.

12 oz bottle served in a Porter Bar goblet at about 45F. Hazy golden-amber body with a rather weak head; streaks of lacing. Aroma: soft ripe fruit including pears and apricots; yeast and baked bread. Flavor: slightly sweet up front with some light bitterness appearing in the aftertaste and a bit of tartness mid-taste onwards. Fruity, including citrus, apricot and apple notes. Feel: smooth, medium body with medium-light carbonation.

Pours a slightly hazy, pale golden orange color with tangerine edges and a one finger off-white head that immediately settles into a thin ring. Spotty lacing left behind. Sweet, slightly spicy aroma with a balance of zesty, peppery coriander, citrus fruit, banana and bready yeast. The yeast and banana notes stand out but are complimented by the grains and citrus. After it warms, hints of clementine, tangerine and grapefruit come to the forefront. Medium bodied but fuller than expected with a prominent wheat/bready yeast flavor that overpowers the peppery spice and citrus sweetness. Slightly zesty with coriander, ginger and white pepper notes followed by hints of blood orange, tangerine and grapefruit but the bread and banana flavors are too strong for my liking, making it a bit one dimensional. Very easy to drink but could use more spice and citrus flavor.

12 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Poured hazy golden with a small white head that didn’t stay long. Aroma of spices, citrus fruit combined with grain. Taste of citrus fruit, grain, some banana notes and some spices. Easy to drink, not bad.

Poured into a perfect pint. 3.75 A: Moderately hazed dark yellow color. Two fingers of pillowy white head. Retention is good and a moderate amount of lacing is left. 3.75 S: Mountain stream freshness is the first thing that comes to mind. Next comes coriander and possibly some orange peel. Neutral wheatiness with light pepper from the yeast. Overall quite pleasant. 3.75 T: The taste takes the nose and adds a powerful citrus component. Orange, lemon, and even some mango and pineapple enter the fray. Again a neutral wheat, coriander, orange peel, and pepper. 4.0 M: Medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Moderate creaminess that goes down quite well. 4.0 D: Pretty good beer with no real faults. DavoleBomb, Jun 01, 2013

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a tumbler in late 2013. A: Cloudy orange with a 1/2 finger head. S: Orange, tangerine, spice. T: Follows the nose. O: I feel that there are better wits out there, but this one is ok. The orange and tangerine go together nicely. The spice isn’t as strong as it is in others.

A bit boring, and nothing fun....but I drank it, and would do it again if it was presented to me.

Not the best example if a Belgian ale. A bit flat and not inviting. After a few sips, dumped it out. In a pinch OK but not great.

Cloudy dark amber. Fizzy shrinking white head. Sharp spice scent. Weird flavour; vanilla, soap, yeast and mild pepper.

"Not bad. I think the grains of paradise make this juuuuust a bit better than average. otherwise, why another wit? nothing to get excited about, but reasonably crisp, clean and refreshing..."
