This beer was surprisingly different from what I was expecting. It smelled wonderful from the pop, and the first taste was crisp and refreshing with a bitter aftertaste.

Bottle as part of hop sixes, anytime u can grab rates from a pharmacy u get points in my book. Pours very pretty orange with white head. Subtle nose of citrus. Tastes of peppercorns, citrus, light mango, malt sweetness, and lots of earth bitterness. Quite pleasant.

I am again impressed with the quality of this beer because it is coming from such a large brewery. A unique, wonderful fusion of yeast/wheaty notes with a bit of citrus in the background and hops to make a real India Pale "Lager". The body is medium and drink is smooth with lots of lacing and a decent head. A good brew, Sam Adams!

12oz bottle. Pours a cloudy pale golden orange color with a medium frothy white head. Aroma of wheat, pine, citrus, yeast, and Belgian spice. Taste of belgian spice and yeast, with notes of citrusy lemon, and a piney finish.

I normally approach Sam Adams beers with some skepticism. They typically er on the side of a more bland reserved flavor in favor of being more appealing to the general public. Rest assured this is not like that. This is a hoppy beast of a beer that is actually very bold for what it is!

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from Walmart, Kissimmee, Florida, USA. This hazy straw coloured beer has apricot and zesty tropical fruit flavours with orange and pine on the finish. Superb!

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a hazy light golden color with a good head and ample lacing. Aroma of citrus, bit of pine and fruit sweetness. Taste of grapefruit with some malt sweetness and a bit of fruit and spice. Bitterness seems a bit mild for an IPA and the finish is fairly dry. Medium body, smooth with a comfortable feel. Decent beer for the style without being overly hoppy

I think this beer was bit past its prime. I have nothing but love for Sam Adams and the yeoman’s work they did in bringing back brewing from the behemoths. Pours just a touch to hazy with white head. Scent is citrus over pine. Hoppy bitterness seems faded. Light medium mouthfeel with decent carbonation. Bottle - Sigman Bottle Shop - Conyers, GA
