COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sam Adams Whitewater IPA. A wheat ale brewed with apricots & spices.
This hazy brew combines the crisp character of a white ale with the intense pine and citrus flavors of an India Pale Ale. We took the unique combination to a new level with the sublet addition of apricots, which provide a slight sweetness to balance the bitterness of the hops. Cheers!

Pours a hazy golden yellow. Aroma of peppery hops. Taste is slightly sweet for a second and then it's all citrusy and peppery hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is thick. It could use a bit more dryness and a bit more balance. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Slightly hazy medium orange pour, head that clings to the side of the class and an aroma of orange rinds and hops. Flavor is bitter orange, spruce, a little sweetness and not much else. OK.

Very well made white IPA. Served a bit too cold at first. The nose took a minute to open up, but yielded to some light spice. Medium bodied with a balanced palate showing citrus zest and a hint of baking spice. Long finish.

Bottle. Pours deep orange with a pretty large white head, plenty of lacing. Aroma is very spicy with some floral notes behind the spice. Taste is spicy with some really earthy hoppiness. You can taste a little apricot competing with grapefruit. Not exactly bitter and not exactly sweet. Just a good balance of flavors. Pretty darn good offering from SA.
