COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sam Adams Whitewater IPA. A wheat ale brewed with apricots & spices.
This hazy brew combines the crisp character of a white ale with the intense pine and citrus flavors of an India Pale Ale. We took the unique combination to a new level with the sublet addition of apricots, which provide a slight sweetness to balance the bitterness of the hops. Cheers!

12 oz bottle from Spring Variety Pack. Nice hazy, golden apperance with what appear to be chunks of fruit floating around. Moderate head. Aroma is very sweet and fruity as expected with heavy citrus, but the heavy hop content balances it out with some floral/grass character. Taste is fairly bitter with a bit of sweetness. Full body, long bitter aftertaste, but not too dry. Very unique and enjoyable IPA.

Total Wine & More, Chantilly 120oz ($2): Pours a hazy orange color with a white head. Aroma is grapefruit, sugar, and some pine needles. Taste is much the same. The big surprise with this beer was that hops were much more intense than I would have expected. It wasn’t a watered down IPA at all, but rather a pretty bitter little guy. Good balance overall, and has a few qualities that distinguish it from other IPAs.

12 oz bottle. Pours hazy yellow/gold with a 2 finger white head. Good retention and lace. Lots of citrus and wheat on the nose. Fresh, clean and spring like. Taste is lemony with bread notes. Other citrus flavors as well. Kind of blurs the line between an IPA & a white ale. Light and bubbly in the mouth. Very easy drinking.

A nice cloudy yellow body with a white head that had decent retention and nice lace. Aroma had a nice floral hop note, some mild citrus and a lingering spice note. Some toasted malt notes. Flavor was mildly sweet from the malts. There was a pleasant fruit note. A nice balance of bitter and floral hops. A nice crisp finish.

I loved the hazy yellow body and full-white head. They did a good job with this one. The nose is full of fresh cut greens, mango and hops. With a solid hop character among tropical fruits, the lingering bitterness is perfect for a hop head.

Nice. Hazy yellow with a white head. Aroma of citrus, apricots, and spice. The taste is fruity and really well balanced; not too sweet, not too bitter. Medium bodied and refreshing.

On tap. IPA? No. Good though. Pours with a hazed golden hue with a white head that leaves good lace. Aromas are of peach (or apricots), stone fruit, curacao orange, white pepper, ginger, mild coriander and bready malt. Tons of esters or fruit. Minimal IPA hop character (as far as a dry hop grassy note or anything of that nature). Flavors are of coriander, peach or stone fruit of some sort, pepper, lots of esters, mild bitterness, and a touch of yeast acidity. Lively bubbles, dry and quite floral. I was surprised that I enjoyed this as much as I did.
