Samuel Adams Whitewater IPA brews a delightful specimen from their Hopology series. Fresh floral aromas rise from a hazy orange pour with a decent orangish head. The aroma is pleasant but not real prominent. Taste is a nice mix of fruit and floral notes with tinge of pine that doesn’t hang around too long. The finish is dry and reminiscent of spring water. Whitewater IPA exceeds expectations and is worthy competitor.

Bottle. Hazy orange pour with a thin tan head. Pine and citrus hops in the aroma and taste. Nice down-the-middle IPA.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Drank from bottle. Very piny hops throughout -- prominent in nose, taste, and aftertaste. Slight suggestion of apriocots in the nose. Pine dominates all else. Tastes like an effort to make a super hoppy, supper piny IPA like was popular a few years back when brewers were trying to get as many hops as possible into a bottle, a trend I never cared for to start with.

Very tasty, IMHO. Nice hop flavor with a hint of orange peel. Drinking out of the bottle so unsure of appearance.

Looks fine, hazy orange with a thin film of tan head. I really don’t like the aroma on this one. I get apricots, but in a gross rotting way, along with sweet malts and alcohol. The flavor isn’t much better, but with the twist of some bitter hops that increase into the aftertaste. The mouthfeel is perfect, too bad the rest of the beer isn’t. Probably the worst IPA I’ve had from Sam Adams.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Reviewed from notes.
The appearance was a hazy golden almost brown colored body with a large foamy white head that mushroomed capped when it was initially poured, some carbonation appeared, but mostly stayed out of sight because of the haziness of the beer, it left a good amount of lacing.
The smell had coriander, apricots and pine; some hops present themselves in the background.
The taste had some pine and the hops, nothing else reared its head.
The palate was about a medium, sessionable, no harshness on the tongue, no aftertaste, piney finish.
Overall, this is not a bad brew, but probably would only have this again if it was on tap.

Mar. 24, 2014; 12 oz. sampler-pack bottle. Floral/grassy aroma. Bitter/slightly-sour taste. The sharp finish could be off-putting for some, but I liked it. Witbier-like; not a great IPA.

From bottle. Decent aroma that doesn’t over power. Nice bite from the bitterness of the hops. Good after taste and weight. Very nice addition to the sam adams family
