COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sam Adams Whitewater IPA. A wheat ale brewed with apricots & spices.
This hazy brew combines the crisp character of a white ale with the intense pine and citrus flavors of an India Pale Ale. We took the unique combination to a new level with the sublet addition of apricots, which provide a slight sweetness to balance the bitterness of the hops. Cheers!

Taster from a business trip to Toledo, 2/25/2014, 12fl oz, 5.8% a/v Nice copper colour, thin offwhite head and an arome of citrusy and piney hops. Taste is much the same, citrus and pine hops, a bit of fruity notes, and a decent malt backbone. A rich beer in all. Palate is sweet and the hoppy notes stick around. Great beer.

Pretty good mass-produced IPA. Light on the hops, but very smooth. Aroma is light hops and aftertaste is consistently smooth.

Bottle into shaker. Hazy orange color. Aroma is strong pine, followed by flowery citrus hops. Subtle fruity sweetness and fresh mozzarella yeast aroma. Taste is traditional American IPA. Pine and citrus hops with a bite, etc... Light bitter finish. Good stuff.

Best by June 2014.
Appearance: The body is a vibrant amber to orange hue with a velvety haze to it. The head is short with poor retention. The head forms a dense and bubbly white coating though.
Aroma: The aroma is very mild with a citrus leaning presence. The aroma smells nice, perhaps this is a little old but itís 4 months before the best by date so it shouldnít be very off. The aroma smells nice, but itís lacking strength.
Taste: The flavor is mildly bitter with a citrus presence, the flavor is crisp with a slight spice on the finish. The flavor is nice, but itís a bit incoherent, by that I mean that the flavors sort of blend together. Nothing stands on its own. Thereís a mild grapefruit edge but overall I donít like this as much as I remembered.
Palate: Full-bodied and crisp.
Overall: I remember loving this beer, perhaps itís getting old. Iíll likely give it one more try when I see a super fresh bottle come in. Itís not that this is old, itís that itís lacking and I remember it being much better. Itís not a bad beer, but itís just middle of the pack now.

@ Corkí n Bottle / Crescent Springs KY Aroma of malt and citrus. Pale Amber with a nice 1/2" white head, thin horizontal streaks of lace. Taste is malt with hay and apricot, that moves smoothly through the palate, finally allowing fairly strong hops deep in the finish. The hops appear after the swallow, making them somewhat of a revelation for the drinker. Really well done.

It looks like a wheat--plenty of lace from the long lasting head. The brew is appropriately cloudy with a dark gold color. Light wheat with a dollop of peppery hop bitterness. Leans toward the hop bitterness. Thereís enough wheat for interest, but I would not qualify this that way. I also do not detect any apricot or spices. All that said, I find this to be a very easy beer to drink.

Hazy straw yellow with a reasonably thick white head. Aroma is slight pine and citrus with a touch of fresh cut grass. Flavor is mildly hoppy with a slight fruitiness and a slightly bitter finish.
