COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sam Adams Whitewater IPA. A wheat ale brewed with apricots & spices.
This hazy brew combines the crisp character of a white ale with the intense pine and citrus flavors of an India Pale Ale. We took the unique combination to a new level with the sublet addition of apricots, which provide a slight sweetness to balance the bitterness of the hops. Cheers!

Extrmely hoppy for a Wheat style beer...an even citrus beginning gives way to a distinct seperate bitter finish...a good choice for hopheads who want to go with a lighter wheat

Samuel Adams Whitewater IPA brews a delightful specimen from their Hopology series. Fresh floral aromas rise from a hazy orange pour with a decent orangish head. The aroma is pleasant but not real prominent. Taste is a nice mix of fruit and floral notes with tinge of pine that doesn’t hang around too long. The finish is dry and reminiscent of spring water. Whitewater IPA exceeds expectations and is worthy competitor.

Coriander, orange peel, thyme,, lemon grass, and even a little cat pee on the nose, good strength. Cloudy amber, medium head. Orange peel and lemongrass flavor, again nice intensity. Finishes malty and grassy. Good level of bitterness. Very good interpretation of a "white IPA" More IPA than white, like 85/15, and that’s probably a very good ratio.

Smells delicious, citrusy hops and bright peach/apricot aromas. Flavor is very similar. This tastes like just a citrusy west-coast IPA rather than a witbier cross. Probably the best Sam Adams beer I’ve had.

poured into a glass, right away the wheat character is noticed. Very hazy appearance for a ipa, unique. Aroma is citrus hops. Flavour is also citrusy bitter. Overall a very good ipa that is not true to style, but worthy of a good rating.

Such a wonderful floral aroma, pick up big burst of apricot and citrus. Also notice some light caramel notes and alcohol. This caught me by surprise, just an all around excellent American IPA. Fruity hops delight throughout. Grapefruit and apricot balance with malt sweetness. Piney bitterness then slides into a dry finish.

Pours hazy orange with lasting white head. Smell is clean and sharp grassy hops. Taste is nicely bitter, and fresh grapefruit rind and resin. Nice full mouthfeel and perfectly prickly carbonation. Excellent beer.

I normally approach Sam Adams beers with some skepticism. They typically er on the side of a more bland reserved flavor in favor of being more appealing to the general public. Rest assured this is not like that. This is a hoppy beast of a beer that is actually very bold for what it is!

UPDATED: MAY 14, 2014 Numerous brewers have played with the conventions of the India Pale Ale. Many of the resulting creations have been interesting at the very least and tastily innovative at the best. Happily, Whitewater fits into the latter category. The blend of wheat malt, hops, and apricots creates a splendid harmony of taste. There’s sweetness, citrus, and spice in this ale. Smells pretty damn good, too. I’ve returned to it from time to time and would happily do so in the future.
