Sam Adams continuies to create great beers. The Whitewater IPA is no exception. Hazy straw-colored body with a white, clinging head. Wonderfully inviting aroma of citrus and pine. Medium, lively mouthfeel. The flavor is almost as good as the aroma. Mild, sweet citrus up front gives way to a nice bitter pine and grapefruit finish. A very well done IPA.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours a hazy amber gold with a 2-inch creamy off-white head. The head settled rapidly to an 1/8 inch. Looks like a wheat-ale but the nose has a strong hop presence. Some suggestion of citrus and apricot does break through the hop. Medium-light body with significant bitter hops on the palate. The palate suggests neither IPA nor Witbier. My palate is confused, but that may be the intent. It is very short with only a very slight lingering of sweet malt. Very nice Belgian lace does form.

12 ounce bottle pours a cloudy white with a white head that lasts. Very nice citrus grapefruit aroma. Taste is strait bittering hops with a little bit of grapefruit flavor not much in the way of flavoring hops. Unpleasant bitter aftertaste. Definitely not a top-tier I PA

12oz bottle from Georgio’s, Billerica, MA. Hazy amber with a thin white head; grapefruit aroma; grapefruit taste with a fair hoppiness and a grainy body; then a dry finish. A pleasant enough IPA.

Pours hazy golden with one finger head, decent lacing. Fruity nose. Tastes of fruit, herbs and citrus, moderately hoppy. Body is somewhat light. Finishes dry with mild lingering bitterness. It’s OK.

Taster from a business trip to Toledo, 2/25/2014, 12fl oz, 5.8% a/v
Nice copper colour, thin offwhite head and an arome of citrusy and piney hops. Taste is much the same, citrus and pine hops, a bit of fruity notes, and a decent malt backbone. A rich beer in all. Palate is sweet and the hoppy notes stick around.

Pretty good mass-produced IPA. Light on the hops, but very smooth. Aroma is light hops and aftertaste is consistently smooth.

Bottle into shaker. Hazy orange color. Aroma is strong pine, followed by flowery citrus hops. Subtle fruity sweetness and fresh mozzarella yeast aroma. Taste is traditional American IPA. Pine and citrus hops with a bite, etc... Light bitter finish. Good stuff.
