COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bold and rich, with a touch of holiday spice. The first thing one notices about a Samuel Adams® Winter Lager is the deep ruby color. Then comes the magical aroma which promises something special on the tongue. The cinnamon, ginger, and hint of citrus from the orange peel blend with the roasty sweetness of the malts to deliver a warming, spicy flavor. On the palate Samuel Adams Winter Lager is rich and full bodied, robust and warming, a wonderful way to enjoy the cold evenings that come with the season.

I had this one a long time ago. If I have the chance to drink it again, I’ll update this rating

Bottle. Amber pour with solid, receding tannish-white head. Malty maple sugar aroma with mild hop accent. Malts and hops balance each other fairly well. Sugary finish. Perhaps a bit too sweet in the finish, but an excellent choice when looking for a lager-style in the colder months... how about that for solid marketing?

Like this smoke flavored beer, and the hint of cinnamon. I might get more of this one.

12 oz. bottle, pours a hazy dark amber with a small beige head. Aroma of Xmas spices (cinnamon, nutmeg). Flavour of Xmas spices as on the nose, buttery malts and bread. Decent, but nothing interesting.

6-pack from the LCBO. Pours a clean copper colour with an average creamy off-white head that stays a little bit and creates decent wavy lacing. Nice malty grain aromas with a touch of caramel and hop. Slightly creamy mouthfeel with a beautiful mid-stickiness. Surprised I am not getting any cinnamon and ginger anywhere. Malty cereal taste with a little bitterness in the end. Quite an easy-drinking lager with just a bit more bite than most average ones.

Bottle. I only picked this up, because it was the best offering a local restaurant, Piaquadio’s, had amidst a domestic onslaught. The aroma was faint; I only found a bit of hop citrus after sniffing deeply. The appearance was a deep amber, ruby tint, with a half inch head that faded quickly, and minimal lacing. The taste was a mediocre malt, citrus lager. I didn’t pick up on any of the cinnamon or ginger. The palate was a light body, crisp texture with a bit of a tingle on the tongue (maybe that was the spice I wasn’t tasting).

Winter lager is very smooth if chilled properly, the aroma is stand in Adams beers. The taste is good it can go well with a cold night, nothing special but better then all these commercial beers. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A nice ruby color with a faint head that leaves some lacing. The aroma is a little faint, with lots of malt and spice. The flavor has the malt up front, with some cinnamon and orange in the middle and a not-too-sweet aftertaste.
