nerdrocker101 (57), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Jun 18, 2009 Hazy amber with medium tan head. A light yet sweet malty aroma with a hint of citrus and pine. A malty backbone with some spice notes. Nothing spectacular. zvikar (269), Tel-Aviv, Israel Jun 16, 2009 Deep amber with nice beige head, aroma of grapefruit some cherries and some cheese, flavor of malt, grapefruit bitterness, some spices like corriander, balanced medium to full bodied and probably has something to do with the winter. Vertical Bacon Strips (581), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Jun 13, 2009 Amber / copper brew that is not clear. Produced a small light tan cap with minor retension and zero lacing. Aroma is mild and sweet. I haven’t decided if the weak aroma (especially when cooler) is a nice relief or a big letdown...I’ll go with a relief. There is some pine mixed in with something like rum and butter ice cream, raisins and some caramel malts. Taste is nice and mild with a weak spicy bitterness, tasty roasted malts, sweetness, pine, pepper and possibly raisins. Very drinkable especially on tap. Light bodied. Mouthfeel is smooth with a biting herbal aftertaste. Cirrhosis (550), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Jun 8, 2009 Brew pours a dark copper with a slight haze throughout, a one inch rocky head caped off the beer but is going fast and now is gone. Mild aroma consisting of cream cheese icing, roasted malts and that all I can pick up its way to mild smelling, it doesn’t smell bad by any stretch of the imagination but it almost smells of nothing. So very malty tasting the goodness of this malt can’t be put into words, a mild spiciness is coming through but it’s very mild, and once again in one of these winter lager a can taste cream cheese icing! Why? What is this causing the taste? I don’t mind it, it actually taste very good to me I just want to know what it is. There is a slight bitterness in the taste that lingers after every sip, this medium bodied brew coats the mouth in smoothness and feels very smooth. I’m loving this mild Christmas spiciness in the taste mixed with the great dark malt character of the brew. This is something I highly enjoy but don’t think I would want more than a sixer of this pure year or I could see me getting sick of it." Rciesla (2800), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA May 27, 2009 Bottle. Pours a dark brown amber body with an off white head. Some light caramel and toasted malt character. A hint of cherry and grain notes.
